Roots cloth diapers are hand made by WAHM Andrea in West Virginia.

Roots fitteds are available as sized diapers, one-size, or XL one-size.

I received a one-size, which features 3 rise settings and fits approximately 10-33 lbs.

The diaper has nice, wide elastic in front & back. There are 4 snap closures on each wing, with overlaps. I’ve been fastening just two on each wing and it’s been fine.

The diaper is so cuddly soft an squishy, I wanted to snuggle up with it! The diaper has a tapered, low rise and hidden belly snaps. The diaper is constructed of an outer print, a hidden layer of organic hemp fleece, and an organic bamboo velour (OBV) inner. The lay in insert is a layer of an organic bamboo hemp fleece blend, topped with OBV. When you trifold the insert, you get 9 total layers of absorbency.

My son is 9 months old and about 16 pounds. Here he is in the medium setting:

I used it coverless for over an hour before noticing any dampness in the wet zone, and I thought the diaper was very trim for a fitted. If I double the soaker over and lay it right in the wet zone, I can get more time out of the diaper coverless, but then it isn’t quite as trim.

My son is sort of an unpredictably heavy wetter. I can change a diaper and it’s barely damp, then he will flood the next one! I used the Roots fitted under a Thirsties size 2 duo wrap (medium setting) and when I changed him after 3 hours, there were still dry areas on the diaper!

Prices range from $21.50 up to $29.50 for the XL one-size diapers in premium prints. Andrea has also made some unbelievable, hand stenciled diapers (stencils were hand made too), but since she is expecting her 4th child shortly, it will be a bit before she can get back into that!

Shop Roots Cloth and “like” Roots Cloth on Facebook. Look for Roots diapers at Up on The Hill when the shop opens in October!

FTC compliance: I received the pictured diaper at no cost for review purposes. I was not compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own.

omg. I love it so much, but it makes me want to cry. I think my LO is the only kid to be allergic to velour EVER. Practically all the WAHM’s use velour (Cotton or bamboo) inside their diapers too. 🙁
