Geffen Baby Imported Fitted Cloth Diapers Review

Post contains affiliate links. I have been working with Geffen Baby since 2011, and quickly fell in love with their hemp prefolds, absorbers universal inserts and wipes. Their hemp products are 100% USA made, but they also import diaper service quality cotton prefolds. When I heard they were going to be importing 100% cotton fitted diapers, I was curious about them, so as soon as they were available, I bought a few!

Please do keep in mind that although I purchased these diapers myself, I do have a business relationship with the manufacturer. This review/giveaway is entirely self-sponsored. In true Change-Diapers fashion, I’ve measured and photographed each size, both before and after washing. Overall, I think the sizes are slightly bigger than the corresponding rise setting on a one-size diaper.

The diapers seem pretty thin initially, but they really fluff up after washing & drying. They come in 4 sizes: XS/Newborn (orange edge, estimated to fit preemie-10 lbs), Small (navy edge, estimated to fit 9-15 lbs), Medium (green edge, estimated to fit 15-24 lbs) and Large (red edge, estimated to fit 21-30+ lbs — One retailer used the large on her 36ish lb son with great success.) The diapers are closure-less (no snaps or velcro), so you can get a perfect fit with pins, Boingos or snappis, or just wrap them around baby & cover. You can also fold the rise down to fit a larger diaper to a smaller baby.

There is no included soaker, so I’ve also pictured each diaper with an absorber inside.

My measurements are never an exact science, and these diapers (like prefolds) may shrink slightly differently from diaper to diaper!

I used the medium on my 19 lb 15 1/2 month old:

I tried it as our “first diaper of the morning,” which my son usually soaks. I intended to leave it on until it was saturated, but naturally (LOL) he pooped in it before soaking it the first time. The second time, I changed it after about 2.5 hours, and the back was still dry. I intentionally left it on him longer than usual (almost 4 hrs) in the evening (not his heaviest wetting time) and the very front and the back were still dry when I changed him.

I think he could still be wearing the small as well. Here is the medium under a Swaddlebees Capri/size 2 cover on the medium setting:

I assumed I would need to use these with an insert, since it doesn’t have an included soaker, but I don’t really think I’d need to, unless I was using it for an extended nap/night time. I was pretty surprised by how well these worked for us, considering they are under $10. The XS retails for $5.26, small for $9.26, medium for $9.52 and large for $9.78. While I do wish they were made in the U.S.A., I realize the price would probably at least double if they were. I still have my fingers crossed for a U.S.A. made hemp fitted!

I have a business relationship with the manufacturer, however, I purchased these products myself. I was not asked to write, nor was I compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own.
