I purchased this item myself however, this post contains affiliate links. Amazon had Ekobrew cups on sale, so I grabbed the stainless version. My husband bought me a Keurig mini for my birthday a few years ago; I like being able to make just one cup of coffee at a time, but the cups are wasteful, expensive, and I haven’t found one I really liked yet.
The cup came with pretty simple instructions, and it seems well made.
Eight O’Clock French roast is my favorite coffee. I like dark, strong coffee, and Caribou mahogany is pretty good too…I bought the whole bean version after I liked their K-Cups.
You have to grind the coffee finely enough, but not too finely. I typically use one scoop of coffee per 4-5 ounce cup, and you’re not supposed to fill the Ekobrew more than about 3/4 of the way. I could only fit about 1.5 scoops in it. I tried packing it in tightly (you’re not supposed to do that) and it worked OK, but brewed slowly. It does work better if you don’t overfill it…you just have to play around with the cup size to get the strength you want.
After brewing, grasp the cup by the black part on the side, then clean it out after it has cooled.
The coffee isn’t as good as the coffee from our grind & brew coffee maker, but I didn’t expect it to be. It was however, the best coffee I’ve ever gotten from the Keurig! I’m definitely glad I bought it!
