Yummi Pouch Reusable Food Pouches Review

I received a product sample at no cost for review purposes. I was not otherwise compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own. Like most kids, mine love just about anything that comes in a pouch. Applesauce, fruit puree, yogurt – anything in a pouch. Unfortunately they are rather pricey, create a lot of garbage, and aren’t fresh, homemade foods. Yummi Pouch solves these problems with their reusable food pouches.

The pouches are made of BPA and Phthlate free, food grade polyethlyene material. They’re dishwasher and freezer safe, and can be recycled when you’re finished with them. I think they are incredibly cost effective, since they start around $2.50 each ($14.99 for a pack of 6 classic pouches.) That means that after 3 or so uses, they’ve “paid for themselves” compared to single serve pouches purchased at the store.

The mini 2.5 oz pouches have the lid on the top (they are reusable but you can purchase lids separately if you lose one) and zipper closure on the bottom. This size is perfect for snacks for little ones or baby food purees. The tops are the same size as those from disposable pouches, so if you do buy any, save the caps!

The 6 oz and 10 oz pouches have the spout on the side and zipper closure on the top, plus a fill line (I overfilled the mini the first time I used it, oops!) If you’re freezing your pouches, you’ll want to leave extra space.

I’ve mostly been using the pouches for yogurt in my daughter’s lunch. It’s easy and fun to eat, and I don’t have to worry about losing spoons!

We also received a neoprene pouch cover which insulates the 2.5 and 6 ounce packages (there is a larger size that fits the 10 oz sport pouches as well.)

You could put just about anything in the pouches, from yogurt and applesauce to smoothies and pudding. You can even use them as snack pouches for dry items. The zipper closure is very secure (as are the caps) and they are very easy to clean. I just rinse them in the sink, making sure to open the bottom gusset, then put them over the pegs on the top rack of my dishwasher.

I rarely buy pouches since my kids love them and can eat an entire box in a matter of minutes! Yummi Pouches are very reasonably priced, so I wouldn’t have a heart attack if one were mistakenly thrown away (I hope not though!)

You can shop for Yummi Pouches on their online store, and take 10% off with code PARTY4YP. Be sure to “like” Yummi Pouch on Facebook and follow @YummiPouch on Twitter.

Thank you for this! I knew there had to be a more cost effective option than my local walmart offered – ONE pouch for $7.49. Couldn’t bring myself to do it.
