Micuna – European, Environmentally Friendly Children’s Furniture

Micuna Life

Micuna Lands in the U.S.

Micuna is a leading children’s furniture/accessory manufacturer in Spain that has been setting trends since its inception in 1973. Finally their products are available in the USA via their headquarters in Budd Lake, NJ.

One of the three largest European crib & children’s furniture manufacturers, Micuna’s products are handcrafted and exported to more than 35 countries all over the world.

micuna

Not just beautiful and functional, Micuna products are known for their European quality and safety as well as the company’s commitment to the environment. In fact, they were the first baby furniture manufacturer (in the world) to achieve IS0 14001 environmental certification. All Micuna products use only wood from sustainable forests and the coating process uses water-based paint.

Take a look at the stunning line:

Micuna Ovo

The OVO (meaning egg in Portugese) high chair is a far cry from clunky plastic chairs. It’s beautiful, functional and stable, perfect for children 6 months to 3 years. The washable tray has raised sides, the footrest and straps keep baby safe and the solid beechwood legs and frame are adjustable to two heights. Most interestingly to me, you can remove the bottom part of the legs leaving the sculptured molded polyethylene seat as the perfect comfy chair. Add an optional fabric seat (white, beige, red, pink or blue) and reuse the packaging as toy storage!

Micuna Smart Fresh

The Smart Fresh Bassinet has a sleek oval shape with suffocation proof mattress, and transparent, breathable fabric allowing you to see baby without getting out of bed. 6 wheels and a brake allow you to easily move it from room to room. Choose a metallic grey, white beech wood or natural frame to match your decor.

Micuna Life Crib

The LIFE crib collection allows you to customize your crib by choosing three of the 15 available spindle shades and a natural or white wood base. If the options are too overwhelming, choose from standard colors (white, natural and grey) or one of Micuna’s four color combinations inspired by places (Life Provence, Life Kenya, Life Tribeca & Life Brooklyn). Whatever colors you choose, it’s simple to assemble the snap-in spindles featuring innovative spring technology.

With multiple mattress heights, removable spindles and conversion to a twin bed (with existing crib mattress and bed conversion kit), the crib is appropriate for children up to age 7.

Micuna Harmony crib

The HARMONY crib is available in solid white or white/grey stripes and is made with eco-MDF. With the optional conversion kit, the crib converts from a crib to a twin size bed, making the transition to “big kid bed” easier on your child with the familiar space.

The LIFE crib and OVO will be available at Giggle (affiliate link) and the line is arriving at more U.S. retailers in 2016. I really liked all their products. They are very nicely done, and I enjoyed learning that they use water-based paint.

I’d choose the LIFE crib! I like that you can customize it to match your nursery decor & that it converts to a larger bed. I think it’s cool that you can reuse the packaging from the high chair. I actually noticed that box before I checked out the chair. 🙂

The Smart Fresh Bassinet would be my pick! Love the oval shape which takes up less room, and that you can get it with a natural wood finish.

I would love one of the life cribs. The wood would go great with the nursery theme and I wouldn’t have to buy another bed for s long time!
