I was not compensated for this post however, it contains affiliate links. It is hard to choose a “favorite” cloth diaper; it’s almost like trying to choose a favorite child. You love them all…although now and again one can drive you crazy more than the other. 😉

diaper laundry

I’ve thought about this before and I always end up naming a lot of diapers! However, I’ve noticed that when I do diaper laundry, the same diapers are always hanging to dry. I figure that’s a good indication that those are our favorites!

So, here they are:

Bumgenius: My first cloth diapers were Bumgenius 3.0s, and now I have more Bumgenius 4.0 than any other diaper. My husband and I both find them easy to put on our son, whether they are snap or hook & loop closure. They fit him really well with no gapping, drooping etc. With a hemp insert added, they are really great. I also think the price point is a bargain when looking at everything else on the market, and the company’s customer service & warranty is excellent.

Thirsties: I really dig the 2-sizes of Thirsties Duo diapers. The size 1 were one of very few that fit my son when he was tiny, yet were absorbent enough. The size 2 still fit my son well when he potty trained. The hemp & microfiber insert snaps together, so you can treat the microfiber separately if you would like to, or remove it if you don’t need the added absorbency of hemp (and want a trimmer diaper.) For a U.S.A. made diaper (with hemp included) to retail for under $20 is fabulous in my opinion, and their customer service rocks.

Ragababe: I tried one Ragababe easy AIO to see what all the fuss was about, and ended up loving them. They are super absorbent and quite trim. They’re adorable, and although they are neither inexpensive, nor easy to obtain, I want more than the 6 I have! My son fits fine in mediums (he could probably wear small as well) but I have him in larges for the absorbency. The only issue I have is that a few of them have never stuck well to the laundry tabs in the wash.

Geffen Baby Prefolds: As you may know, I work with Geffen Baby, but I have purchased lots of their prefolds! The hemp jersey m/l prefolds are my night time pocket stuffer. They are trim, super absorbent, USA made, and far less expensive than many other night time options.

Honorable Mentions:

Applecheeks: Applecheeks size 1 were one of my favorites when my son was eeny teeny. Great fit & super absorbent. The size 2 fit my son well when he potty trained. The bamboo inserts are very absorbent, and the prints/colors are awesome. They are made in Canada!

Swaddlebees (Blueberry) Capri: The Capri is a 2-size cover, which I like (I’m sure you’ve gathered that!) The shape of their covers fit my boys really well, and they seem much more sturdy than others I have. They are on the pricey side for covers, but they are also USA made. I like to use covers and hemp inserts when we travel (to save space) and this is always the cover I go for first.

I feel a little like I’m giving an acceptance speech; I just know I’ve forgotten someone!!

I love my BGs with a hemp liner too, but I use those for bed time. I’ve been using mostly my Grovia hybrid in the daytime.

I just love my BGs. They were the second diaper we tried and both hubby and I just fell in love with them.

I’ve used Bumgenius but found they didn’t fit my skinny boys well.

My favorite diapers at present are Bummis prefolds and Gen-Y Universal wraps, they are as bombproof as I can achieve on my LO and as a cloth advisor I’ve had to try many different nappies to be able to advise (the hardship of this 😀 lol)

Soem of these on your list I’ve used and loved and the rest I want to try!!! When my son was very little he was such a heavy wetter! He leaked out of everything! That included the Thirsties duo diaper and the Applecheeks. Finally, at almost 10 months old since he’s not nursing around the clock anymore he is a much lighter wetter and we aren’t having so many leaks anymore. I’d love to try the Ragababe AIO and the Geffen Baby hemp prefold! I’ve found prefolds and a cover are best for my son during nap time!

I do have I bought some wide hook and loop at the fabric store and cut the loop side into squares to use instead of the laundry tabs on my Ragababes. I haven’t had a problem with mine coming undone but I do have an older one that is a little curled and caught the front of my favorite Rag.

I need to do that, but I am just so lazy. LOL Not really but remembering to put the thingies on there & take them off… 😉

BG’s were our first diaper, and Thirsties are our go-to covers. I actually just sold all of my pockets, and am working on adding even more prefolds to our stash. While I’m not a fan of pockets, I love fitteds, so maybe it’s time to give AIOs a go… Oh, and I’ve yet to use Geffen prefolds, but they’re on the list for me to try! (So many diapers, so little time…even when you only use two types of dipes!)
