A Trim, Absorbent Fitted Made in N. America – Bummis Flannel Fitteds

Bummis sent me a diaper at no cost to review. I was not otherwise compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own. Post contains affiliate links. I was able to see the new Bummis flannel fitteds at the ABC show. They seemed so trim, I wondered if they could possibly be absorbent enough for my guy (spoiler alert: they are.)

Like other Bummis products, the fitteds are made in Canada with mostly North American materials.

The diapers have a snap closure with hip snaps and overlap, to fit slender babies (Bummis estimates these diapers will fit 10-30 pounds.) The wide rear elastic allows the diaper to sit comfortably against baby’s skin.

The diaper has 3 rise settings, and a flannel outer in a variety of boy, girl & gender neutral prints. The inner is a soft, cuddly sherpa, which is sourced in the United States just for Bummis. The sherpa is 100% organic cotton which is why it feels so cuddly soft. If the polyester content is under 5% it doesn’t have to be declared, so many “cotton sherpas” contain polyester. The diaper has an absorbent polyester core but contains no microfiber.

Below I’ve pictured the diaper before prep. As you’ll see in the “action shots,” flannel prints do fade over time with repeated washings, which is just the nature of the fabric. One thing I appreciate about this diaper is that it seems sized perfectly to fit under covers without having to go up a rise setting. (I’ve pictured it with a Bummis Simply Lite that I received in a diaper of the month shipment!)

Here is the small rise setting:

Here my son is 2 3/4 years old and about 27ish pounds:

I initially had him in the medium rise setting but decided to bump up to the large. I covered the diaper with the Simply Lite wrap:

I was really surprised by the absorbency of this diaper, especially since it is so trim. For a nap or very heavy wetter you can easily tuck a booster inside. For night time, check out their dimple diaper.

The Bummis flannel fitted retails for $24.95, and I realize this may seem steep to some. However keep in mind that Bummis products are made in Canada with (for the most part) materials sourced in North America, and all Bummis employees and contractors are treated well & paid a fair wage.

Find the new flannel fitteds at Bummis retailers everywhere.

So impressed. Im a flannel fan 🙂 not sire how I feel about poly fill but I think I’ll try one of these, thanks for the review. My fave diaper company I used for my first 5 kids no longer carries fitted’s just AIO’S, flats and prefolds now.

Thanks for the review I’ve looked at these and the dimple a few times, I wonder how trim they’d be under wool. Thanks 🙂
