Bumgenius 5.0 Cloth Diapers & News from Cottonbabies #ABCKids15

I was not asked to write nor was I compensated for this post. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase I may receive a small commission – thank you! Phew! My laundry is done, I’m all unpacked, photos uploaded and notes (almost) sorted through. I have several posts for you but there are so many new things from Cottonbabies, it needed its own!

I’m not sure I’ll even bother lugging my good camera next year. The lighting is so inconsistent it’s tough to get a good photo, save for the few lucky booths where things are just right!

The biggest announcement from Cottonbabies was probably the Bumgenius 5.0 pocket, which is now branded as “Original” as they were the original Bumgenius product. Along with fresh new packaging, these beloved pockets received all new elastic which is proprietary and designed just for cloth diapers. Yes, at some point all Bumgenius products will have the new elastic!

In addition, the pocket opening is sewn in slightly at each side for a smoother fit and the suedecloth inner is now super soft and a bit stretchy. These tiny changes make a huge difference in the overall feel of the diaper and I’m sure the fit as well. (I’ll never know personally since no more babies for me, boo-hoo!) MSRP of solid colors went from $17.95 to $19.95 which was a long overdue increase in my opinion. The majority of these diapers are now made in the U.S.A. yet the price has remained the same since…I don’t even know when. They were $17.95 in 2008, that I know for sure, and they are still very competitively priced.

The newborn AIO diapers are now “Littles” and 3 great new colors were introduced.

Again with the bad lighting but Jelly is a nice, rich, true purple – what everyone asked for after the literal “oops” that was Oops.

New Bumgenius #clothdiapers colors are beautiful! #abckids15

Pepper is a true, fiery red, and Kiss is a coral that reminds me of a creamsicle.

Elemental and Freetime diapers received pretty new packaging and Cottonbabies teamed up with Tula for a Put on Love print carrier. Standard carriers retail for $195.95 and Toddler for $219.95.

Wool dryer balls joined the lineup ($24.99/4 pk), along with a stain & odor remover developed in partnership with Better Life. The stain/odor remover is free of synthetic fragrances, dyes, phosphates, brighteners, SLS, & bleach, is made in the USA and retails for $7.95 per 16 oz bottle.

MilkDaze nursing pad packaging received a face lift and I learned something new (see my Instagram post below)! A 3 pair pack retails for $9.95.

The MilkDaze line also gained a beautiful selection of silicone teething jewelry. I’m in love with the sophisticated designs and classic colors. ($10 for bangles and $19.99 for necklaces). I tried to use a filter to erase some of my arm hair but those Italian/Portugese genes beat out Instagram filters, hee hee.

Elemum pads are almost here!

These menstrual pads have elasticized edges and are very trim. I thought I wrote down the price point but apparently I didn’t. I do remember they were to be sold in 3-packs and the price point was definitely within my budget. They will be available very soon.

If you love genius prints, you’ll dig these!

These 48″ square muslin blankets are made just for Cottonbabies and are GOTS certified. A 3-pack with 2 solids and one genius (Albert, Audrey, Chaplin, Louis, Love or Lovelace) print retails for $39.99.

I received the booth tour from Libby and later chatted with Jennifer Labit (as I did last year). Unfortunately my social anxiety causes me to word vomit so I’m sure Ms. Labit thinks I’m an idiot. I joked later that I need a “handler” like zoo animals have, who can make me shut up. 😉

What new Cottonbabies product would you like to have?

Love that the 5.0s will have more changes! I agree that they needed an update and a price increase. Don’t worry about word vomiting, just smile when you’re talking 🙂 Or start passing out hugs!
