Mailbox Mondays via @chgdiapers - subscription Boxes

Once a week, I publish a reader’s question. Don’t miss any posts! Subscribe to our new RSS Feed or subscribe via email.

Questions don’t have to be cloth diaper related, just email maria at change-diapers.com with “Mailbox Mondays” in the subject, or fill out my contact form for readers, which you will always be able to find on my Contact Page.

for a monday question possibly….

review of the subscription boxes if you receive any. which ones are really worth it and which seems to be a waste of money…

There seem to be a lot out there now. Bundles and Buzz, Citrus Lane, Babba Box, Blissmo, Conscious Box, Birch Box, Kiwi Crate, and many others.

I’ve subscribed to Up On the Hill’s Diaper and Item of the month clubs, and Kiwi Crate. I was pleased with both. I’ve also given my hubby beer of the month club subscriptions as a gift, tee-hee!

Have you subscribed to any? What did you think?

I get Citrus Lane (for a 3 year old) and Sloomb’s Unicorn Club (for a 10 month old). I loved last month’s Citrus Lane, this month…meh? But most of the fun is the anticipation and surprise. I really like the Unicorn club. It’s a bit less exciting bc you know you are getting either a HLC, Snapless, or OBF, but the fun is they are all club exclusives!! Prints and such ONLY available to Unicorns.

I am a subscription box junkie. I currently subscribe to Citrus Lane, Birchbox, Wittlebee, Graze, and Up on the Hill’s mystery diaper club. I will probably stop the Birchbox soon, but I love the rest.

With Citrus Lane, you usually get one toy, one health/beauty type item, a food item or feeding item, and one other thing. My box this month was for a 7 month old (even though I have a 6 month old – they jump you forward like that so you have items before you’re quite ready to use them). It consisted of:

Melissa & Doug Wooden Penguin Toy
EZ Grip Training Teether from Innobaby
    Silicone Train Spoon from Oogaa
    Little Cremes from Plum Organics
Shampoo and Body Wash from the Honest Company

Wittlebee gets you 6 items of clothing per month. You get to pick 3 and 3 are a mystery. Some recent brands have included Tea Collection, Kate Quinn Organics, and Threadless. The value of the clothes I get in that box are generally at least DOUBLE what I’m paying for them. You will sometimes get off-season items, but you can always ask for a larger size than your baby wears if you want. for the three items you pick, you can even select items of different sizes.

Graze is invite-only right now. It started in the UK. It’s a package of 4 healthy-ish snacks for $5. You can get it weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Each one is single serving. You can specify the subscription to their all low-cal healthy snack service, or their regular service, which gets you a mixture. What I REALLY like about Graze is how easy it is to exlude items. For instance, I can’t eat dairy because my baby has a milk protein sensitivity. I was able to exclude all dairy-containing snacks with one checkbox on their site. You can also rate snacks you’ve tried (and ones you haven’t) to get pretty good control over what types of food you get – while still maintaining the surprise element!

And I know Maria has already posted about how awesome the UOTH diaper club has been so far. There’s only been one shipment, but it was worth about twice what was paid for it (when you consider shipping costs as well).
