EcoSmart Safe Pesticide Review

I paid normal retail price for the pictured product. Now that the weather is warming up, the ants are moving in. I sweep 2-3x per day and run the Roomba, but still with 3 children, my floor is an ant’s paradise, LOL!

My husband found EcoSmart at the store and grabbed a bottle of home pest control. He noted that a half gallon was around $10 vs. $5 for a full gallon of the nasty stuff, but I worry way too much with an 18-month old that puts everything in his mouth and would sooner eat directly off the floor than use a plate, ha ha.

It comes with a spray-nozzle, and is totally safe to use around kids & pets, while killing & repelling all the nasty creepy-crawlies.

The spray contains natural ingredients and smells really good. However, it is quite fragrant! I am somewhat sensitive to smells and it doesn’t bother me, but if you are very sensitive, you might not like it. It is also not appropriate for anyone with a nut allergy. (2-Phenethyl Propionate is derived from peanuts.)

I was kind of surprised, but it instantly killed the ants in our mud room, and so far, so good on repelling them!

The worst smell known to man.. I used it three weeks ago in a small area,on my rug, around my computer..I could no longer sit at my desk and use computer.. The smell drove me out of my den. I tried everything to get rid of the horrible smell. Just had my entire wall to wall carpet removed.. down to the concrete floor.. Now the concrete floor smells. this is nuts.I have tried dawn ,baking soda . stiff brush .. nothing helps.. I will never buy this product again..I have called the company twice ,offer little help.. developed Bronchitis.. think it was from the smell.

2-Phenethyl propionate is a derivative of peanut oil, but it does not contain the enzyme that triggers peanut allergies.

The only time I tried it in that big jug size the sprayer didn’t work properly and then it leaked all over the trunk of my car when I went to return it (the smell took FOREVER to go away!) We used the smaller containers without problem, though. When our local Lowe’s stopped carrying that brand (no idea why, they just didn’t have it when we went to buy more!) we found another child and pet safe brand that uses some kind of lemon oil instead of the peppermint oil that Ecosmart uses (so if Ecosmart smells like really strong Certs, this one smells like really strong lemongrass tea or something). Both seem to work the same, but I like the lemon smell better 😉

We have used this to take care of a minor flea infestation and it worked beautifully! My parents (the source of the fleas infestation) had used it as well and it work great for them as well. The fleas were done jumping around and the cat was once again walking on the floor. She had been avoiding the floor because of the fleas. I recommend this product to all of my friends! We love it and plan to use it again if we need to!
