Geffen Baby’s Newborn Super Absorbers – Universal Cloth Diaper Inserts

I have a business relationship with the manufacturer, and I received this product sample for free. Post contains affiliate links. Geffen Baby‘s line of absorbers (universal cloth diaper inserts) are available in 3 sizes (newborn, regular & plus) and 2 materials (hemp fleece or hemp jersey.) They are all 5 layers of 60% hemp/40% organic cotton, and are made in the U.S.A. I received their newest product, the newborn super absorber, to try.

The newborn absorbers are perfect for boosting absorbency in any diaper, while the regular size are perfect for small diapers, or for use as a large doubler. The “plus” are the size of a one-size or large insert.

The newborn quick absorbers (pictured above with yellow trim) are hemp jersey (soft & smooth like a t-shirt) while the new newborn super absorbers (above pictured with brown thread) are hemp fleece (soft & fuzzy like the inside of a t-shirt.)

Before prep, both are exactly the same size. Below I’ve measured the newborn super absorbers after prep:

The hemp fleece prefolds and inserts tend to shrink a bit less than the jersey so I wasn’t surprised that the newborn super ended up a smidge wider than the newborn quick absorber. I was a little surprised though that it was a tiny bit shorter, although I only prepped/measured the one. They are both 5 layers, but the fleece is thicker & more absorbent, although they are both very trim!

Here you can see their size compared to a prepped quick absorber:

They are small enough to fit in teeny tiny newborn covers, and of course also make great absorbency boosters for any diaper.

The newborn super absorbers are brand new and not yet priced, though I’d expect them to be slightly more expensive than the newborn quick absorbers, which are $9.85 for a 3-pack.

Do you love hemp diapers/inserts as much as I do?

Probably the best article I’ve read on the subject.

    God, I love preppers.

That’s a Bummis Super Lite. They’re discontinued but I believe you can still find them at many retailers on sale!

I’m not sure Melissa! I have yet to find a good way to measure the absorbency & take into account the compression etc as well. 🙂

I have 3 of the newborn quick absorbers and 3 of the regular quick absorbers and I love them. I will be buying the quick absorbers plus when my baby is on the large setting of his diapers and I will buy more newborn absorbers when I have another newborn! Love them!
