Thinc Skin/Balm Baby Pits Natural Deodorant Review

I purchased these items myself. I was not asked to write, nor was I compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own. You may know this brand as Taylor’s Pure & Natural, Thinc Skin or Balm Baby. Whatever you call them, their Pits deodorant isn’t “the pits.” (ba dum, ching!)

The 2 oz glass jar can be cleaned out & reused, or recycled. The directions suggest you use an applicator to avoid contamination, but I hate to throw something away every time. Instead, I just make sure my hands are clean, and use a different hand for each “pit.” They say that “Shea butter is sensitive & the oils in your hands can change this butter’s awesome properties” so I probably need to find something to use as an applicator & just wash it after each use. I’m not sure what would make the best applicator – I wish they sold one!

I managed to snag two jars when it was in stock at Up on the Hill. I am using the Vanilla Grapefruit scent (YUM!) and I am giving the Lemon Cedarwood to one of you! I didn’t realize that it is designated as a “he” scent on their website, but I don’t see why anyone can’t use it! They also have woody and fresh scents, and if you order directly from their website, you can request that it be made with no nut oils.

A little bit goes a long way, and though it didn’t last 18 hours for me, it lasted a long time! The scent is pleasant, and strong – but not too strong. I am really digging this and will buy it again when I run out. It did sting a bit when I applied after shaving – you can also get a special sensitive skin version if you are particularly sensitive.

The MSRP of a jar is $7.49 and you can buy directly, or at great retailers.

Giveaway: I will send a jar of Lemon Cedarwood Pits to one lucky winner. Entries go in the Rafflecopter form below.

I love this deodorant. My old natural deoderant stopped working for me after I had my baby. This one is working very well for about 12 hrs! I’m shocked because I have very sensitive skin and it actually isn’t burning me after shaving. You mentioned the applicator issue. I ordered mine from Kelly’s Closet and there was a mini wooden paddle loose in the box. I assumed it was for the deoderant because it works perfectly and is just the right size. I guess the store provided it, not the manufacturer!

I tried a natural deodorant for a while (Vanilla Grapefruit too but made by someone else…VErefina or something like that). It worked great for scent for me but, unfortunately, I reacted terribly to it 🙁

Did you narrow down the offending ingredient? That’s no fun. 🙁

I started to try but it just got too uncomfortable. I’m planning to try again when I get a chance. I have the ingredients now to make my own (I made some for my sister) so I’m going to play around with it to see. I’m hoping it’s just the grapefruit or something non-essential to the deodorant
