Tomat Adult Shirts from Up On the Hill

I love the Tomat infant/toddler shirts I bought from Up On the Hill, so I was psyched when I found out they were doing a very limited run of adult shirts, just for UOTH!

Men’s shirts are available in lightning, jellyfish or windmill prints. Women’s are available in jellyfish, stars or windmill.

The screen printing is awesome. It feels like part of the shirt; not at all stiff or plastic-y. The shirts are made by American Apparel, and it is recommended that you size up to allow for shrinkage.

My husband is usually between a medium and large, and the large fit him perfectly after shrinking.

I initially bought medium, since I typically wear a small. I thought it would be helpful to see measurements of the shirts after shrinkage. All measurements are laid flat, top to bottom and width where the arm meets the shirt.

I didn’t love how snug the medium was on my chest. I put it away for now, and it will be perfect when my son weans & I lose these last 10 pounds!

The XL has much more of a “t-shirt” fit on me vs. the intended “fitted” shape. I think I could wear anything from a medium to an XL depending on how I wanted it to fit. So I recommend going up a size for shrinkage, and another size for a looser fit.

The women’s windmill print is a different cut, and has an even more fitted style. I went with a large. I recommend going up two sizes in this shirt!

Just for comparison, I’ve measured an ancient Old Navy XS shirt:

and a small shirt from Target:

My daughter (8) was dying to have Tomat shirts too. They don’t have her size, but I suspected she could wear the women’s small:

The windmill print was a bit large at the shoulders in the back, but it’s otherwise the perfect tunic fit on her.

I think “tweens” or teens would love the size small! Or, of course, any petite woman!

Tomat does not often make adult shirts, so if you want one, don’t wait! Shirts aren’t “cheap” at $35-36 however, they are beautifully made (oh so soft!) and you are supporting two small businesses when you buy.

I paid normal, retail prices for all pictured products. I was not asked to write, nor was I compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.
