What Do You Think? Boy, or Girl?

31 weeks

I thought it would be fun to see if you think I’m having a boy or a girl. As you know, we’re expecting baby #3 in December. All 3 have been "surprises." With my daughter, everyone on my husband’s side thought I was having a boy, since there were 5 grand sons and 4 great-grandsons on that side (now there are 7 great-grandsons…my daughter is the only girl!) My side thought it was a girl since they "don’t make boys."

With my son, my sister thought it was a boy, and strangers thought it was a boy, but no one else really knew! We went to a Chinese restaurant and the owner said definitively "It’s a boy." Not "do you know what you’re having?" She was sure, and said it was because I was "all out front." She was right!

This pregnancy hasn’t really been similar enough to either of my pregnancies for me to really know either way. The picture above was taken last week, at 31 weeks, and I think I’m even more "out front" than I was with my son! I initially thought it was a girl, largely because of the timing/charting/whatever that thing is that says XX live longer than XY, but now I’m thinking boy.

It really doesn’t matter either way. I’d love another little boy, but my daughter really wants a sister. If it’s a boy I don’t think any of the baby clothes will work (opposite seasons) and we can’t come up with a boy name!!

For giggles, here’s what I see when I look down:

What do you think? Is it a boy or a girl? 😀

I say girl because there’s too many boys going around this year!
Here’s a funny story. We went to the airport when I was just over 19 weeks pregnant. Some people didn’t even know I was pregnant yet, you could barely tell. The security guy who had me stand in the machine said “You’re having a boy.” and I had just found out 3 days before that it was indeed a boy. How weird is that?

boy. i have to laugh because i’m the same… we leave it a surprise, the whole XX/XY seemed to indicate it’d be a girl, but lately I’ve been thinking its a boy (I’m 27 wks atm). And my belly looks a lot like yours!

With both my boys, I was more wide-spread (like girls are supposed to be) rather than out in front. But I *knew* I was having boys both times though, so didn’t listen to those old wives tales 😉

Boy2 didn’t have a name until a couple days after he was born. Don’t sweat it that your DH doesn’t like anything; he’ll probably agree with some of your choices after your bundle is here.

We never found a boy name for DD, for DS we chose it maybe a week before he was born (and he was late!) On the one hand, since he isn’t contributing any ideas, I may just pull the old I pushed em out I name him routine…but I don’t want to name the poor child something DH doesn’t love. Aaahhh! LOL

I don’t know, but girls are more fun to dress! With my daughter we had found out, and she was in a position that if she had been a boy… well… we would have felt horrible for him. But there was a guy I worked with (an older man) who constantly told me she was a boy, because of how I carried. Yep, he was WAY off!

Girls are more expensive to dress, tee-hee! 😉 Matching bows and tights and headbands…

Someone is going to have to come up with a boy name that my husband doesn’t veto! 😉

I’m going to say boy! You have some super cute boy diapers that would be fun to use again 🙂 Of course, you could use those on a girl, too 😉

I tried *so* hard to buy “gender neutral” stuff but darned if I didn’t always end up choosing boy stuff, LOL!!

If you would have shown your face, I could tell you exactly what you’re having! You’re probably not going to believe this, but I can read the auras of pregnant women and tell them if they’re having a boy or a girl. I’d love to see your face!

LOL, I hate showing my face. I’m one of those unfortunate women who gets a pregnant face. 😉

That’s always my response when people ask me if I know “what it is” or “what [I’m] having.” No one usually thinks that’s funny. 😉

I don’t know why but I’ve just been thinking it’s a boy since you announced you were pregnant. So excited for you, you are truly blessed! Wishing you a beautiful birth!

I think it has more to do with how the baby is positioned than gender, to be honest, but I would say… girl just for fun, mmk?

I know. 🙂 Just one of those fun old wives tales you know? Was true for me twice so hey, there’s a 50/50 chance. 😉
