Yoreganics Laundry To Go Travel Trio Review & Giveaway (CLOSED 2/22)

yoreganics laundry to go

Yoreganics sells USDA organic personal care and laundry products including shave gel, lip balm, foaming wash, soap nuts, stain remover and brightener/whitener.

I received the travel size laundry trio, which is enough for 25 loads, and retails for $14.99.  The set is also available in sample, medium, large and extra-large sizes.  The travel set included a generous helping of soap nuts, a muslin bag, .41 oz stain remover spray, and two small baggies (6 oz.) of brightens & whitens.

Kim included a handwritten note, which was a really nice touch.  I realize she probably isn’t able to do that for every order, but as a reviewer, it was really nice to get!

soap nuts

I have used another brand of soap nuts before, and Yoreganics soap nuts are definitely high quality.  The set included instructions, but you can also view their soap nuts page for tons of info on soap nuts and how to use them.  Soap nuts are of course, cloth diaper safe.

This is gross, but I decided to try the trio out on my husband’s pillow cover and pillow case.  Yes, I do wash this stuff once per week, but it was really stained and nasty looking.

I sprayed them with the stain remover first.  Yoreganics stain remover is available as part of the trio or separately as a .41 oz trial size ($3.99), 8 oz. ($14.99), or 64 oz/half gallon ($74.99.)  It is non-toxic, biodegradable, gluten free, vegan, never tested on animals, and contains USDA organic ingredients.  Ingredients: Saponified organic coconut, olive and jojoba oils, organic aloe vera, organic blend of essential oils and rosemary extract.  It has a pleasant, herbal scent. (I probably wouldn’t use this on diapers because of the oils.  Do note that according to Yoreganics, the stain remover is cloth safe and will not damage diapers!)

soaking in yoreganics

I put the gross laundry in with the soap nuts (you don’t usually soak w/soap nuts, but I set my washer to the auto soak and followed with a wash) and the brightens & whitens.  B&W is available in 3 ounce bags (1.99), 1.5 lb bags ($11.99) and 3 lb bags ($19.99.)  It is color safe, chlorine free, biodegradable, gluten free, vegan, enzyme free, fragrance free, not tested on animals, and is septic and greywater system safe.  Additionally, it does not contain: EDTA’s, phosphates, 1,4 Dioxanne, petrochemicals or optical brighteners.

To use, dissolve 1-5 oz of B&W per gallon of water, then soak for up to 6 hours.  I used the 6 oz I received, and soaked for about 4-5 hours.  You can also use 1-3 oz (.5-1 oz for HE machines) in a load of laundry as a laundry enhancer.  The B&W contains sodium carbonate (washing soda) and  sodium percarbonate (think hydrogen peroxide) and you should definitely keep it out of reach of children and pets.  (Safe for cloth diapers!)

after2 hours of soaking

After about 2 hours of soaking, I could already see a difference.  I finished up with a complete wash.

The pillow cover wasn’t blindingly white, but wow.  Huge difference!  I will definitely be purchasing Yoreganics again! I have some diapers and inserts that could use some B&W for sure.
