Having cloth diaper issues? Every Monday, I answer a question asked by a reader, and give other readers the chance to weigh in.

Questions don’t have to be cloth diaper related, just email maria at change-diapers.com with “Mailbox Mondays” in the subject, or fill out my contact form for readers, which you will always be able to find on my Contact Page.

Do you have any recommendations for cloth training pants? We are in the process of starting potty training with our son and have looked around for good cloth pants but don’t know where to begin. Any advice you could give would be wonderful!

Thanks,
Jenyne

I’ve used a few different cloth training pants including Bumbledoo, Kissaluvs, Snap-EZ, Flip and Super Undies. If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Kissaluvs since they are fairly trim, have a bit of absorbency sewn in, but have a pocket to add more.

A “good” trainer to me is trim, easy to pull up/down, has snaps to easily remove it in case of accidents, and can be made more or less absorbent as needed.

All About Cloth Diapers recently wrote a three part series on cloth trainers where she shares info on lots of brands and opinions from many Moms!

Have you used cloth trainers? What was your favorite?

I don’t have to worry about potty training for a while now, but I saw these on Etsy and they are too cute not to share. http://www.etsy.com/listing/90215247/fleece-training-pants-kermit-size-2t-3t

I haven’t used any trainers for daytime potty training. We did boot camp for my daughter and it took a week. Night time is a different story. I love the Super Undies nighttime trainers. They are not trim but super absorbent. I have never had any leak problems and my daughter loves her pink and purple underwear.

My favorite trainer was mother ease sandys fitteds in toddler size. My little guy was not little- he was huge 🙂 so the size fit him right. They didn’t have a water proof layer which worked better for us because both he and I knew when he was wet. And lots of absorbancy so the couch wasn’t wet. And its a side snapping so works for icky messes too. The con- bulky. but paired with cover it would work for over night too. I tried a few other trainers with water proof outer and really, they were just diapers to my little man.
