I have a mailbox question! We are going to a “cocktail attire” evening wedding in two weeks. I am currently nursing my three month who will also be attending. Any tips/advice/been there done that stories?
Yes, I have! My brother-in-law got married when my 8-year old was 3 1/2 months old. I took the easy way out and wore pretty shoes, a skirt and a top vs. a cocktail dress. If you truly need to wear a dress vs. separates, I would look for a true wrap dress or one with a criss-cross top that you can easily pull aside.
Have you been in this situation? What did you wear?

We had to go to a wedding when my son was 3 weeks old and then the day before he was a month old we had a bat mitzvah and a wedding! I looked and looked and looked for a dress and finally did what Ashley did; I wore a shirt and a skirt. My main piece of advice is to scout out a quiet place to nurse as soon as you get there. I don’t have a problem nursing in public but the reception was too noisy for my son to settle down and nurse (not to mention that the chairs weren’t great for that purpose). I wound up wandering around the club with a wailing baby trying to find a good chair to nurse in which wasn’t fun for anyone. Also, consider asking the couple if you can be seated as far away from the music as possible. We wound up having to leave one wedding early because it was just too loud for the baby. Afterwards the bride told me I should have asked to have the music turned down (she asked me why we left so early) and while I still wouldn’t do that I think that if we’d been seated further away from the speakers we probably would have been able to stay longer.
same here but i was in the wedding as a brides mate luckily the dress was strapless so it was an easy feeding pulled down feed then pulled up and back in the party and we had shawls so i used that as a cover so i still looked elegant well feeding her and no one noticed just looked like i was holding her
