Questions don’t have to be cloth diaper related, just email maria at change-diapers.com with “Mailbox Mondays” in the subject, or fill out my contact form for readers, which you will always be able to find on my Contact Page.
A mom asks:
What to do with the tons of diapers in the stash that aren’t in good enough condition to sell or donate, but that are decent enough they could definitely be used again.
Donate them!! Yes, donate them! Check with the individual charity first, but many charities(like The Natural Momma Me Initiative and Giving Diapers Giving Hope) accept diapers that need new elastic, snaps, hook & loop etc. It is a huge help to receive diapers that need a little refreshing before passing them on.
Did you know you could donate diapers that need repair?
If you have a local cloth diapering group or store, see if there is someone local in need. Sometimes it’s not worth the $ to ship a last-legs diaper to a distant charity, but if someone local can get some use out of it that’s better. If someone is washing every day while they build their stash, or just getting started, they might appreciate having a few more diapers even if they only last a few months.
I didn’t realize places accepted donations of less than perfect diapers! I’ll be looking into that, I’m so glad you shared the tip!
