I purchased these items myself. If you click and buy, I may receive a small commission. Thank you! Sometimes, a dog needs a diaper. Whether she is in heat, a senior, or having accidents for another reason, check out cloth dog diapers!
I purchased Wegreeco cloth dog diapers, which came in a 3-pack for around $20. Sizing runs from XS to XL and are sized by waist measurement (measured right in front of the dog’s back legs). I chose the medium for my 12ish pound dog.
The diapers close via velcro in the back, have a tail hole and absorbency built in, with a waterproof layer.
If you need to add absorbency, try a hemp cloth diaper insert or doubler. I’ve pictured a Geffen Baby newborn quick absorber in this diaper.
Nola was less than thrilled about being my diaper model!
The diapers washed up just fine, and though they don’t have laundry tabs for the velcro, I just turned them inside out and fastened them before putting them in the washer. They didn’t come loose and have held up well so far.
Have you used cloth dog diapers?
Yes, Doggie Diapers are really a thing! We got a washable dog diapers for our senior dog who’s now incontinent. We got the diapers from Barkertime (https://barkertime.com/). They’re an American company and make their diapers here in the USA. They have like hundreds of designs to choose from and are of very high quality (not like the Chinese ones you’ll find on eBay or Amazon).
Thanks for the tip!
I would totally use washable dog diapers. I have a belly band for my male Boston Terrier to keep him from marking when we visit people. They’re a good idea for housebreaking when puppies are almost there but still have accidents.
I think they’re great! My sister uses them on her “senior” dog. He is partly incontinent but partly just confused about where he is. He’s still happy and not in pain though so this has been a good solution!
My dog chewed 2 of them… they cost more than any of the baby diapers I bought 🙁
Oh no!
