Post contains affiliate links. Most people know I puffy heart Geffen Baby products; so much so that I work with the company. The majority of their products are 100% USA made, 60% hemp/40% organic cotton, super soft, trim and absorbent.

My son was pretty teeny as a newborn, but he was a very heavy wetter. The diapers that fit him well weren’t absorbent enough beyond those first few days of dirtying a diaper every 20 minutes. I loved Geffen Baby prefolds in covers, and the absorbers made a fabulous AI2 in XS covers, but I needed something eeny teeny to fit in all my newborn diapers.

The Geffen Baby newborn quick absorbers are exactly what I needed 10 months ago! They are tiny versions of the Quick Absorbers/Quick Absorbers plus. 5 layers of 60% hemp/40% organic cotton that are U.S. made, so soft, and can be used in covers or pockets.

Here they are measured when brand new:

And after washing once (maybe twice?)

Hemp should be washed and dried at least 3 times before use, and it will continue to gain absorbency through 8-10 washes (sometimes more in my experience.) I tried the inserts in the newborn diapers when they were the size pictured above. After a few more washings and drying, they shrunk a bit more (see below) making them fit even better, but I didn’t photograph them all again!

The inserts fit perfectly in the Fuzzibunz XS pocket, as well as laid in the Bumgenius XS as a booster (no pocket on them.)

They were great as a booster in GroVia and Kissaluvs newborn AIOs:

They also fit in Tots Bots Tini Fit, Swaddlebees Simplex newborn AIOs and XS Happy Heinys pockets:

Here they are in the XS Thirsties covers. I prefer a regular size absorber or a prefold in those since there is more room. I do not have a gPants newborn diaper, but these should fit them as well.

Then, there’s Rumparooz Lil Joeys. There is almost no room in between those gussets! The insert fit folded in half, but I don’t know if it would be too bulky on a baby.

The retail price is $9.85/3 pack. You can buy them from Geffen Baby for now, though retailers may choose to carry them as well. If you’d like to see Geffen Baby at your favorite store, as them to complete a wholesale application!

I have a business relationship with the company and received the inserts at no cost. I was not asked to write, nor was I compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own.

I got a full stash of the new tots bots tini fit and I love them on my newborn, but he has been soaking through them with the doubler since 2 wks old. I found that a hemp babies doubler works well when folded down, so now I’m trying to decide if I should buy a bunch more of those or these geffen baby ones. Which do you think would add the most absorbency? Thanks!

I do work with Geffen Baby, but I love them because they are so soft (knitted) and they are 60% hemp, so they are a bit more absorbent than other hemp!

I have a LO on the way (making debut in April!) and I am trying to find an easy solution for nighttime. I am set with PF for the day, but knowing a fab c-section is in my future, I’m leery of PF in the dark. I know in the post you mentioned using these as an AI2 (with other sizes???) …would these work on their own in XS/Duo 1s covers (also have Flips, but since DD was 5.5, I’m assuming this one is going to be tiny as well…) or would you need 2 of these to make it work??? Any other thoughts on easy night time for NB is appreciated! 🙂 We are looking to stay away from MF because it STINKS!!! (Bad personal experience…) TIA. 🙂

I have a 3 month old who is a very heavy wetter. I think he has leaked out of every diaper I’ve tried on him, and I’m talking like within an hour. I’m pairing a microfiber insert with a natural fiber booster in most of our pocket diapers, but he’s also leaking out of Thirsties, Applecheeks, AMP and other diapers with natural fiber inserts that I would expect to be pretty absorbent! I’m hoping to get some Geffen Baby Super Absorbers to add to our pocket diapers. Do you think one Super Absorber in a diaper is enough for a heavy wetting baby? Does one super absorber keep your son from leaking? Or would I need to expect to pair it with something? Maybe I could add one of these Newborn Quick Absorbers as a booster? Any help is appreciated. 🙂 We’re kind of struggling!

I would consider the super absorbers plus, and folding them down in the front to fit your diapers and add extra absorbency in the wet zone. OR consider their prefolds trifolded in a pocket, they are great!!
