Anibums Micro-Preemie / Preemie / Small Newborn AIO Cloth Diapers
Over the next few weeks I will be highlighting cloth diapers that will fit preemies or small newborns. Check out my newborn cloth diaper overview for how newborn diapers fit on my 6.5 lb newborn, and check back for more preemie cloth diapers.
In my search for preemie cloth diapers, I came across Anibows/Anibums on Etsy and her preemie/micro-preemie AIO cloth diapers.
Small fits 1-3 lbs, medium fits 2-4 lbs and large fits 3-6 lbs. All diapers of the same size weigh the same, making them perfect for the NICU. You may choose white, yellow, pink or blue.
Thankfully, the mama I bought these for gave birth to a baby just over 5 lbs, so the small and mediums are currently diapering my son’s dolly!
The diapers are AIOs with a stay dry inner, hook & loop closures and laundry tabs.

Diapers retail for $10 each, and Anibums makes and ships them very quickly. She also made a micro-preemie “one-size” cover for me, which I will be post about separately.

I actually just changed DD out of and into an Anibums preemie AIO diaper… I love them – and from what I’d imagine, they appear to be the most comfortable for her. We use a combination of prefolds with Bummis NB Super Brite covers (only have 2), we have 5-6 Lil Joeys, some old BG XS AIOs that my sister passed along – and then of course our Anibums preemie AIOs. The XS BGs go all the way up to her nipples almost. The Lil Joeys aren’t terrible in terms of size, but they are so bulky that her back/bottom actually are lifted up off the ground in them, so I only use them during the day when she’s up in a carrier (instead of laying flat on her back at night). It just doesn’t seem like it would be comfortable. The preemie Anibums are just the perfect fit for her (she’s right around 5 lbs 3 oz now). I only have three of them, so maybe it’s time to look into a few more. Actually, I have 3 in a size L preemie and those are what fit her now. I did have a S and M preemie one, both that were embroidered with her name and date of birth. The small would have fit her when she was first born (1005 grams), but the NICU wasn’t on board – I was okay with that at the time, but that teeny tiny diaper stayed in her isolette the whole time (next to a photo of her big brothers). It was very special to us. 🙂
Those preemie diapers are precious! I can’t imagine a baby so tiny, but there’s definitely a niche demand for diapers like those.
The diapers are way too cute! When I was washing all the diapers, my daughter (8 1/2) asked who they were for, and I explained that they were for the mama we gave our baby things too (I think she was hoping we were having another baby!) She couldn’t believe the diapers were real and said that a baby that tiny must be “so cute.” I had to have a talk about how babies that small are often fragile & sick because they should still be inside mama growing. :-/
I have a few of the Anibums preemie diapers (my daughter was born 3 months early at 2 lbs 3 oz) and we love them!
I hope she’s doing well now!
My babies were both in the 5-6 pound range, and the large Anibums looked like it would have been an EXCELLENT fit on them! I mean, they look awfully perfect on the teddy bear 😉 What a cute looking diaper.
I agree! They would have fit my little guy much better than other newborn diapers in the beginning!
