This post was originally published on the Kelly Wels blog. Whether you’re brand new to cloth, or a cloth diaper veteran, here are some fun ideas for you to challenge yourself in the new year.
- Try something new
Try a new style of cloth diapers, or maybe something that intimidated you, like a new prefold or flat fold.
- Participate in the flats/hand washing challenge
This is both challenging and fun, and gave me a great appreciation for what I have!
- Try “survivalist” cloth diapering
Challenge yourself to make a diaper out of something around the house. A towel, a blanket, a t-shirt…see what you can do!
- Donate your unused diapers
Dust off those diapers that have been shoved in the back of the drawer, need repair, or are always last on wash day and donate them!
- Tell someone about cloth
Spread the love of cloth diapers! Tell an expectant friend or even chat up the nurse at your child’s next doctor’s appointment.
Do you have any ideas for cloth in the new year?
I need to donate for sure.
Just continuing to cloth diaper after my maternity leave is over is a big enough resolution for me. Last time I switched to disposables because daycare and my husband wouldn’t use cloth but I’m going to keep it up on the weekends anyway this time.
Congratulations on the baby! The way I see it, every cloth diaper you use saves you money, especially if you already have them from your last baby. 🙂 Nothing wrong with part time, but also nothing wrong with using disposables if it works better for you!
