If you’re interested in cloth diapers, but you’re not sure if they’ll work for you (or you’re not sure what brand/style you’ll prefer), it can be nerve wracking to spend so much money on diapers to try. One benefit of cloth diapers is that they do have resale value. However, there are other options!
Several retail stores offer cloth diaper trials or return policies, allowing you to try without the risk. (This list isn’t necessarily all inclusive.)
Kelly’s Closet – Kelly’s Closet’s Wee Guarantee program allows you to try a variety of cloth diapers & shells for 30 days. Return them for a full store credit, or a refund less a 5% restocking fee.
Diaper Junction – Diaper Junction’s “test drive” allows you to try popular cloth diapers and return them within 30 days if you’re not completely satisfied.
Jillian’s Drawers – $10 gets you a 21 day trial at Jillian’s Drawers. Choose the size and color for your package. Use them for 21 days (the period begins when you receive the package) and return them for a refund less $10. You’ll also receive free shipping on your next order.
Nicki’s Diapers offers a 15 day wash & return guarantee for store credit.
Modern Cloth Diapers allows you to create your own cloth diaper trial for a $5 fee.
Sweetbottoms Baby allows you to create a package of 3 diapers. Return for 90% in store credit within 30 days, or 85% refund.
Squishy Tushy has many 30 day trial options. Returned items will receive a refund or higher store credit, less the $35 trial fee.
Sew Crafty Baby has a 30 day trial program that gives you money back, less a 12% restocking fee, for returned items.
Most require that the diapers be returned clean and free of stains or smells. Be sure to read the fine print carefully. There are also several companies that offer newborn diaper rentals.
