New Feature-Friday Giveaway Linkup

I’m a day late this time (as always), but I’ve decided to do a Friday giveaway linkup each week. I’ll list my current giveaways, as well as any good giveaways for cloth diapers and accessories, babywearing stuff (I’m always on the prowl for baby carrier giveaways!) and other “green” products.

I’ll list giveaways I’ve found, as well as reader submitted giveaways. Giveaway roundup and other news

>I try to keep posts interesting and on topic, without a bunch of junk posts, so I’m putting lots of info here!

First, I now have a blogroll page. I just added it, so it’s definitely under construction! If you would like to be listed, please give me a link to your blog, the title of your blog, and what category you’d like to be listed in (humor, parenting, thrifty, green etc.) I’d love to be listed on your blogroll as well, or you could grab my button and put it in your sidebar. That’s not required though.

Second, Fitteds and Pockets and Snappis, oh my! is going to be featured on Simply Stacie on July 9th. I’m excited about that, her blog is a great resource for new bloggers.

Next, I wrote a series of guest posts for Village of Moms that are basically cloth diapering 101. We all know I’m no expert, but I wrote basic cloth diaper info with FAQs and photos, from the viewpoint of someone who was a cloth diaper noob not long ago! My posts will start June 5th.

You might want to hang around her blog during June, after her “Green Baby” segment, she’ll be doing “all things baby and toddler” followed by “Journey to Healthy Living.” Here are some of the giveaways she will be doing: HappyBaby and YoBaby, GroBaby cloth diapers, Rethink Crafts cloth diaper cover, BabyLegs, Posh Little Tutus, Seventh Generation Kit, Fresh Organics, BioKleen and more.

Giveaways Guest Posting

A quick (OK long winded as usual) note from yours truly!

First off, I’m doing a series of guest posts on Village of Moms starting the first week of June. I’ll be writing some Cloth Diapering 101 posts about different styles of diapers and basic how-to stuff. You all know I’m no expert, but I was in that brand new to cloth diapering position not too long ago. So it will be info and opinions from my point of view, not copied & pasted from any official sources or anything like that.

If you get a chance to read my posts when they’re up, I’d love it. You might want to check out her blog anyway, she has several giveaways coming up next month that I know you all will be interested in, including GroBaby, Babylegs and more. I’m reading her recipe posts right now and I’m getting hungry!!

Now, on to the rambling: A comment on my bread post got me thinking and I just wanted to ~~bore you~~ share with you.

I’m very anti-drama and I stay out of it as much as I can. I feel pretty strongly about the decisions I make for my own family, but I’m not terribly concerned about what others do. Some people may think that makes me lame because I don’t protest or write letters or try to sway people, but that’s just how I am. I don’t care if you are so crunchy you churn your own butter, or if you drive a Hummer. *ducks from tomatoes thrown at me*

Anyhoo, I know that I would never win any awards for world’s greenest family and I’m OK with that. I’m making small changes as they work for me.

I know that different people are at different stages in “going green” and people are looking for different things. Some people use only baking soda or vinegar for everything from washing their hair to washing their countertops. Other people have certain chemicals they want to stay away from and some just want something biodegradable and not tested on animals. So, you may see me reviewing a product that you don’t think is green enough for you, that’s OK! Someone else may be interested, I’m just putting the info out there, do with it what you will. I review products based on my opinions and how they work for my family, and you may not feel the same way that I do.

As far as the H F C S (hoping someone’s Google alerts don’t ping and come a-knockin’ on my door again!) some people don’t care, some people aren’t sure, some people hate it and yeah, some people are allergic to corn!

My blog and reviews aren’t a platform for any agenda I have. Yes, I love cloth diapers and I want people to get the info and love fluff too. That said, if you end up sticking with sposies, I still love ya and I still want you around.

I am trying to grow a thicker skin, but that’s easier said than done. I’m glad to share my opinions when asked by someone who honestly wants the info. However, I’m not interested in trying to defend myself to someone with their own agenda, nor do I wear my decisions as a badge!

In other news, I’ve been trying to do a little sprucing up around here, so if you see anything funky, give it a few minutes or refreshes, and if it persists, please let me know.

I have several reviews coming up including four or more different diapers, two swim diapers, green cleaning products and some random HFCS free and dairy free food reviews.

I have two more giveaways coming up soon (as soon as I get my act together, this cold has been kicking my tush!) I’m actively pursuing more giveaways and I think I may have a pretty good chance of reviewing a great product in July. I’m hoping if I can keep growing at the rate I have been (preferably my blog and not my thighs) maybe it will be a giveaway too!
