GreenCupboards is an online retailer that sells organic, fair trade, cruelty free and environmentally friendly products. They only sell products that they personally believe in, and they offer free shipping on any order over $49 as well as a different “deal of the week” every week. The website has a really neat search feature that they call their “Eco-Traits search filter,” which allows to you look for products that are vegan, USA made etc. without having to sift through search results that don’t meet your lifestyle needs.
GreenCupboards sells things for baby, families & home, from cloth diapers to baby carriers, health & beauty supplies, and even grocery items, things for pets and home offices.
GreenCupboards sent me the Haba Flapsi clutching/rattle toy, which sells for $11.99.
The beech and maple wood caterpillar is made in Germany, and is designed for babies 6+ months old. Only wood from sustainable forestry is used, and the water-based ecological solvent-free lacquers give it a non-toxic, and durable finish.
The caterpillar is really cute, and the pieces are on an elastic band, so they make a clackety-clack sound when shaken.
The toy is fairly small, but it is the perfect size for a baby to hold. One of our chickens had to come make sure it wasn’t a giant, juicy, real caterpillar!
My son really enjoys this toy. He picks it up, turns it around, touches each part, and tastes each piece too. I love that I don’t have to worry about him putting it in his mouth!
GreenCupboards has a great selection of wooden toys, along with tons of other products. They even have a sun oven and solar lanterns!
