Have you been following Baby Oliver’s story? Oliver, born at 25 weeks/1 lb 9 oz, is now 11 weeks old and just broke the 5 lb mark. Doctors are hopeful that he will be able to leave the NICU in a month or so, though he will have frequent doctor visits and potential future surgeries ahead of him. The family has insurance however, it doesn’t cover all costs (bills are arriving daily) or their extra expenses involved with his NICU stay. Amii is spending most of her time about 3 hours away from home so she can be in the NICU with Oliver, and her husband is caring for their older kids and driving back and forth.
Growing Up St. Pete is a retailer in St. Petersburg, FL. Amii and the owner, Melane, know each other from retailer support groups, and Melane wanted to do something to help the Fritz family. The store is so generously giving away a Tula baby carrier in the Sassy Sirens print, to benefit baby Oliver.
Several local moms got together to organize a benefit auction for 1 lb 9 oz micro-preemie Oliver Fritz, son of Up On the Hill owner Amii Fritz. Though the other moms have done the bulk of the hard work, I’ve pitched in a little bit and am excited for the Putting on the Fritz auction, which will begin Saturday, January 24th, 2015.
Giving Diapers Giving Hope is a non-profit organization that provides free cloth diapers to low income families. However, they can’t do it without help from the cloth diapering community. GDGH is currently running a personalized ornaments fundraiser where 10% of the proceeds go to GDGH.
Geffen Baby, a U.S. manufacturer of cloth diapers & accessories, has pledged a monetary & diaper donation plus they are donating 5% of all retail sales this week, through 9 P.M. P.S.T. Friday, November 30th, 2012!
Some of my favorite products are the M/L hemp jersey prefolds (these are out night time pocket diaper stuffers), quick absorbers plus and hemp wipes.
If you’ve been wanting to try their products, it would be a great time to do so. If not, check out the GDGH ornament fundraiser!
