Stroller Blanket From Nikki’s Little House – Review

>Nikki's Little House Stroller Blanket

Nikki’s Little House sells all kinds of fabulous products, from cloth diapers to Melissa & Doug toys.  Nikki also has a Hyenacart store where she sells her hand made items.  You may or may not remember the custom Birthday Monster shirt and I Heart Dad shirts she made for me.

I had been eying her stroller blankets for a while, and when the monster print was on sale for $15 (regularly $20), I grabbed it!

It even has loops to attach toys for little ones!

The blanket snaps on to the stroller to keep it securely attached.  When my daughter was little, I ran over her blanket many times, and occasionally she’d toss it out without my noticing. That would mean backtracking my 4 mile loop to find it!

The blanket snaps at the bottom to form a boot to cover tootsies.

You can also use it unsnapped for bigger kids.

The blanket I bought is a super cute monster print on the front, with green trim and backing.

Here it is all snapped to the stroller:

Here you can see how the “boot” covers the foot thingie on the stroller.

no cold toes

I’m able to take my son out for a walk and have him tucked in snugly the whole time!  The blanket is very well made and nice and soft and thick!

I am getting ready to order new I heart Dad shirts for both kids, my daughter wanted to wear them to pick up Daddy from the airport (business trip), and she was sad that she & her brother both were outgrowing them!

FTC Compliance: I paid normal retail price for this item.  I was not compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own.

Radio Flyer wood “classic walker wagon” for the Birthday boy!

>

We knew we wanted to get my son something “bigger” for his first birthday, especially since we only spent $20 for his first Christmas (in my defense, he was only 6 months old, didn’t care, and got tons from other people!) and didn’t do Easter stuff for him.  I settled on a walking toy.

I looked around and most of the plastic ones were in the $40 and under range.  I didn’t really want plastic though, so I looked (online) at the EverEarth Activity Walker and the Parents Around the Block Wagon.  They both seemed OK, but still a little expensive for something that would be outgrown so quickly.
Then I found the Radio Flyer Classic Walker Wagon.  It was more than double the cost of the plastic walking toys, and more expensive than the other wooden ones as well.

I got a decent deal on it, free shipping and went through a cash back site.  The site where I purchased it is also one that offers discounts to new customers, and referral credits as well.  It was very expensive, but we didn’t do a party, I made the cake and this wagon will be played with long after cake and party favors are forgotten!
It was a breeze to put together, I sat on the laundry room floor and did it myself while I was waiting for a load of diapers to finish.
My Grandparents were visiting around my son’s birthday, and my Grandpa was surprised that the wagon is all wood (aside from the wheels & handle of course!)
It has a nice little “bumper” to protect your walls and doorways, and the stake sides easily come off so little ones can climb in and out, or put things in and take them out.
For me?  I can’t believe it!!  Note the adorable shirt!  It was custom made for me by Nikki’s Little House.  It is beautifully embroidered on a high quality shirt (not paper thin like some.)  It was very reasonably priced too!  I love that we have a unique Birthday shirt instead of the same one everyone else picked up at Gap.
He loves it!  My son is lazy not walking yet, so thus far, he’s only riding in it, putting things in it, standing hanging onto it, or pushing it without moving his legs (and being caught by yours truly before the inevitable face-plant.)  It has little plastic “clickers” that slow it down a little bit, to help him when he’s ready to start pulling up all by himself.
In closing, just for cutes:
Let them me eat cake!

Nikki’s Little House Custom Embroidered Ooga Shirt!!

>

I bought a special shirt for my son’s first birthday, but after washing it looked like it wasn’t going to fit on his big day.  So when I found out that Nikki’s Little House had Ooga Monster embroidery, I was all over it!
I just told her what color shirt I wanted and which monster I wanted and I am SO happy with how it turned out!  The shirt itself is very nice also, not cheap or thin.

I guess a lot of people who have been cloth diapering for a while are “over” the ooga prints.  I don’t have any ooga, though I really liked the brown color they ended up not printing, and I like the brand new turquoise.  I’m not wild about the other colors they have in the ooga fabric.  The monsters are just so darn cute though!!

I wish I had asked her to make be a custom birthday bib too, and now I want some embroidered pants too!

We use our sleepy wrap most of the time, but we use a stroller when we go for walks.  I want this stroller blanket she has so bad!  I wish I’d had something like that for my daughter, I had never even heard of such a thing.  NLH has lots of other stuff, but the other thing I’ve been spotting for a while is the custom boppy cover.  Super soft minky, personalized for you, and way cheaper than mass produced.
