I received a product at no cost for review purposes. I started using travel mugs for my morning coffee at home when my 10 year old was born. Initially the worry was spilling it on her or having it pulled/knocked over but I quickly realized that my days of drinking hot coffee in a mug were over. When it takes you hours to finish your cup, an insulated travel mug is your friend! Even so, I find myself trying to keep my cup away from balls being thrown or children climbing on the end table (sigh). When I heard about the Mighty Mug I was intrigued, as was my husband. I let him choose the color since this mug was intended to be his but after playing with it to write this post, I might steal it. 😉
The mug I received is 16 oz, top rack dishwasher safe (a must in our house) and made of BPA free plastic. They also have 12 and 18 oz stainless steel travel mugs (I prefer stainless), 11 oz plastic travel mugs, 20 oz straw tumblers and 16 oz desk mugs.
The flip lid is secure & convenient. It stays closed but also stays out of the way when you are ready for a sip (or gulp).
Here’s what makes the Mighty Mug Special. On the bottom is not a suction cup. Their patented Smartgrip Technology creates an airlock when you place it on a smooth surface. When you lift the mug on the top (above the wavy line), the pressure is released, the airlock is normalized, and you can lift it normally.
Yes, it really works!!
Of course, they don’t recommend that you violently hit the mug but in my experience this thing will not fall over from any normal bumps & spills associated with having kids, being distracted, being clumsy or having mom brain (guilty).

Oh my goodness, this sounds awesome. I’ve heard about this sort of thing before, but never believed it would work. I think I might need to get one of these for my husband’s birthday in September, and while I’m paying for shipping, I might have to get one for myself too. 🙂
