Giveaway Made in the USA Wet Bags & Pail Liners

Planet Wise Wet Bag Giveaway Sponsored by me! CLOSED

> If you’ve been around a while, you know I love my Planet Wise wet bags.

From the tiny wipes wet bag

To the large wet bags…

and the medium sized wet/dry bag.
I love ’em.  So much that I’ve actually never tried another brand’s wet bag.
Why?  First off, they are PVC free and lead free. The bags come in awesome prints and are incredibly functional. They have a locking zipper and hidden/sealed seams for no wicking. They can be washed & dried with your diapers, though I hang mine dry.

Planet Wise is family owned and has very family friendly employee practices. Not only do their products replace their disposable counterparts, their packaging is recycled/recycleable, and uses soy based ink. When your children are no longer in diapers, you can use the bags to transport wet bathing suits, dirty laundry, even use them to separate shoes or toiletries from the rest of your suitcase when traveling.

Now, if it were up to me, I’d run this blog Oprah style, and you’d all have a bag of SWAG under your seat with one each of my favorite things.
Unfortunately, I’m not independently wealthy.  I have, however, received some great things lately as a result of this blog, so I want to pay it forward.  This is a little different since I’m sponsoring this giveaway.
One winner will get their pick of a Planet Wise wet bag.  I’ll be purchasing it myself from Abby’s Lane and having it shipped directly to you.  Please note: This giveaway is sponsored by me.  It is not sponsored, endorsed approved by nor affiliated with Abby’s Lane or Planet Wise.  Open to residents of the U.S. Only and can only be shipped to a U.S. address.
You can view all in-stock Planet Wise items here.
Here’s how to enter:

Giveaways Guest Posting

A quick (OK long winded as usual) note from yours truly!

>

First off, I’m doing a series of guest posts on Village of Moms starting the first week of June.  I’ll be writing some Cloth Diapering 101 posts about different styles of diapers and basic how-to stuff.  You all know I’m no expert, but I was in that brand new to cloth diapering position not too long ago.  So it will be info and opinions from my point of view, not copied & pasted from any official sources or anything like that.

If you get a chance to read my posts when they’re up, I’d love it.  You might want to check out her blog anyway, she has several giveaways coming up next month that I know you all will be interested in, including GroBaby, Babylegs and more.  I’m reading her recipe posts right now and I’m getting hungry!!

Now, on to the rambling: A comment on my bread post got me thinking and I just wanted to bore you share with you.

I’m very anti-drama and I stay out of it as much as I can.  I feel pretty strongly about the decisions I make for my own family, but I’m not terribly concerned about what others do.  Some people may think that makes me lame because I don’t protest or write letters or try to sway people, but that’s just how I am.  I don’t care if you are so crunchy you churn your own butter, or if you drive a Hummer.  *ducks from tomatoes thrown at me*

Anyhoo, I know that I would never win any awards for world’s greenest family and I’m OK with that.  I’m making small changes as they work for me.

I know that different people are at different stages in “going green” and people are looking for different things.  Some people use only baking soda or vinegar for everything from washing their hair to washing their countertops.  Other people have certain chemicals they want to stay away from and some just want something biodegradable and not tested on animals.  So, you may see me reviewing a product that you don’t think is green enough for you, that’s OK!  Someone else may be interested, I’m just putting the info out there, do with it what you will.  I review products based on my opinions and how they work for my family, and you may not feel the same way that I do.

As far as the H  F  C  S (hoping someone’s Google alerts don’t ping and come a-knockin’ on my door again!) some people don’t care, some people aren’t sure, some people hate it and yeah, some people are allergic to corn!

My blog and reviews aren’t a platform for any agenda I have.  Yes, I love cloth diapers and I want people to get the info and love fluff too.  That said, if you end up sticking with sposies, I still love ya and I still want you around.

I am trying to grow a thicker skin, but that’s easier said than done.  I’m glad to share my opinions when asked by someone who honestly wants the info.  However, I’m not interested in trying to defend myself to someone with their own agenda, nor do I wear my decisions as a badge!

Natural Household Products Review

Ecover Ecological Dishwashing Liquid Review

>

ecover

I don’t actually hand wash a whole lot of dishes anymore.  I often hand wash when I am baking and need some of my cups, measuring spoons etc. to be clean for another use.  This was true on Friday when I was making my hubby’s Birthday cake and needed the stuff to be clean in order to make the frosting.  My Ecover Ecological Dishwashing Liquid came in the mail that day, so it was perfect timing.
The Lemon and Aloe Vera Dishwashing Liquid came packaged in shredded material.  I love this re-purposing.
The scent was mild and pleasant, just a light citrus.
It’s both effective and environmentally friendly.
Simple ingredients, but do note that it contains wheat proteins.
I just used a little dab.
It was sudsy enough to work but didn’t make a big mess of bubbles.
I’m not too picky about my dish soap, but I know what I don’t like: too much/not enough sudsing, not rinsing clean, leaving water spots, strong scents (especially flowery stuff), leaving my hands either dry or slimy and other things I’m sure I’m not thinking of right now!  The Ecover was great.  The dishes were clean, my hands felt fine, the scent was light.
No suds mountain in the sink either.  Eek, my sink needs a good cleaning though!
One last shot, the fruits (cake?) of my labor!
Best.  Chocolate.  Cake.  Recipe.  Ever.  So gooey and delicious.  Even my Dad likes it and he’s a weirdo that likes everything “cakey.”  He even prefers dry, cakey brownies to rich, gooey ones.  I know, what a freak.  I must be adopted.
Ecover also makes automatic dishwasher tablets and powder, rinse aid, two other dish soap scents, lots of other environmentally friendly cleaning products, laundry products and even car and boat care products.
Check the store locator and then print coupons to save on Ecover products!
Thank you to Ecover for sending me the dish detergent at no charge.  The freebie in no way affected my review and all opinions (and cakes!) are my own.
