Cloth Diapers Personal Posts Pregnancy

New to the Cloth Diapering Universe

Hello everyone!

I am a new person to the blogging world and the cloth diaper universe! So let’s jump in with a little introduction. My name is Samantha and I am due at the end of May with a little boy. This is my first child and my first cloth diapering experience, so I am sure I will be making plenty of mistakes. I know I will have many challenges to face, but I am looking forward to the ups and downs. I will be managing a full-time job while trying to breastfeed/bottle feed with little to no help from formula as well as cloth diapering. Fortunately, my “daycare” aka my mother and my darling husband are completely on board for the cloth diapering as well.

Does Arnica Really Work on Bruises

Does Arnica Really Work on Bruises?

I purchased this item myself. If you click and buy, I may receive a small commission, thank you. I recently had to give myself Lovenox (blood thinner) injections, and while I followed the instructions (at least, I think I did!), I was left with bruises that left me wondering: does arnica really work on bruises?

One Mom’s Experience with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (HG) & Tips if You’re Suffering

Hyperemesis Gravidarum

When I finally had that positive pregnancy test, I couldn’t have been happier. I was scared and excited. Scared that I would lose this baby and that the third loss would mean something was wrong with me. I quickly rushed to get an ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy was viable.

At 6 weeks I had just started having morning sickness and I thought nothing of it, typical pregnancy symptom, right? If only I knew it would be much worse and for much longer after that.

What I Didn’t Expect When Expecting Baby 2

Let me begin with a little bit of background. My husband and I had our first baby, a boy. He was perfect in every way as all babies are, but he was more than just perfect. He really was amazing. He was always happy, slept great right from the beginning and he was as cute as can be. We felt as though we had hit the jackpot when it came to parenting a newborn. He continued to be an “easy” baby and toddler. Life was great. Parenting was great.

My Experience as a WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor

Growing up I have many memories of my mother going to the local health department when we lived in Long Beach and our family receiving WIC services. The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is a federal assistance program of the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for healthcare and nutrition of low-income pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and infants and children under the age of five. (Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WIC).

When I found out I was pregnant with our first in 2011, signing up for WIC was one of the first things I did. Although my husband and I, actually boyfriend at the time, were together, we were not legally married. He had a steady part-time job, and I had a minimum wage job working at a local grocery store. Both first-time parents, there was a lot we had to learn and figure out. Thankfully my mother urged me to sign up for WIC. And it was one of the best things that I would ever do.
