I’ve tried a lot of diapers, but I hadn’t tried Charlie Banana. I was curious about them, but they look nearly identical to Fuzzibunz (only more expensive), so I wasn’t in a hurry to buy one. I entered a giveaway on So Easy Being Green, and I won!
My apologies in advance for the photos. I loved the look of the all black diaper, but it was difficult to photograph! I’m trying so hard to take better photos but the lights I purchased aren’t bright enough for product photography, and I ended up with harsh shadows outside since it was so sunny! I have a light box but it isn’t big enough for diapers! I could spend hours editing them, but I figure you’d rather take them as is and get more than once post a month, ha ha. 🙂
Just like Fuzzibunz, Charlie Banana Diapers are available in XS, Small, Medium and Large (Fuzzibunz has additional specialty sizes), as well as a one-size diaper that is adjusted via leg elastic. If I remember correctly, the Charlie Banana diapers originally had the same pocket opening & size adjustment as Fuzzibunz as well. Don’t quote me on that, but that’s what I am recalling. Now, the pocket opening is different, and the size is adjusted via an adjustment similar to a bra strap, rather than the buttons like Fuzzibunz.
I have no issue with snaps, but I know my hubby would toss this one back in the pile since it has so many!
The diaper has a buttery soft inner, front pocket opening with a flap, and wide elastic at the legs and rear.
I was unable to find instructions on the size adjustment, as to whether the slider was supposed to be on or in-between the letters, but I did the best I could to measure!

Here’s my son at 5 months old and 13ish pounds, in the small setting.
I don’t care for the way the small settings fit in one-size diapers that adjust via leg elastic. I feel that way about most diapers that adjust this way, it’s not just Charlie Banana. Lots of people love them, and you may be one of them, but they aren’t my favorite! They are also very narrow through the middle like the Fuzzibunz o/s, and I just prefer the cut & sizing of the sized diapers from them.
The Charlie Banana sized diapers sell for $18.88 ($19.88 for prints) and the one-size sell for $20.88 ($21.88 for prints.) Fuzzibunz sized diapers run $13.95-$16.95 and one-size are $19.95 ($2.00 more for the limited edition prints.) Although both Fuzzibunz and Charlie Banana are made overseas, Fuzzibunz is an American company, and they offer a lifetime warranty on their diapers. Both brands offer some great colors, though Charlie Banana has more prints.
FTC compliance: I won this diaper in a giveaway. I was not compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own.
