Lalabye Baby Cloth Diaper Review & Giveaway (CLOSED)
I received a diaper at no cost for review purposes. I was not otherwise compensated for this post, and all opinions are my own. Lalabye Baby diapers are pocket diapers that are designed by a U.S. family and manufactured overseas. At first glance, they look very similar to other diapers, and share many features. However, they do have a unique combination of features.
The diaper has a two vertical snap closure, as well as a hip snap to prevent wing droop. The overlap allows the waist to get eeny-teeny to fit small babies.
I received the little speckled frog (green) diaper, which has rainbow closure snaps. The colors are somewhat muted and look great with the earthy green. The diaper has 4 rise settings, which I am calling XS-L.
The inner is suedecloth, but it is softer than many others I have used. Each diaper includes a pair of rayon from bamboo inserts, in newborn and full sizes. Inserts snap to each other, and can be snapped to the diaper as well.
You can choose to use the diaper as an all-in-two, replacing wet inserts as needed, or snap the insert into the pocket to make matching/stuffing easier.
The diaper has a front PUL flap to hold inserts in place and prevent leaking/wicking for belly sleepers. The dual openings mean the insert will agitate out in the wash. If I leave the insert snapped in, the diaper turns itself inside out to get throughly cleaned.
Here is the XS rise setting measured folded and stretched (not an exact science, but to help you compare):
Small:
Medium:
Large:
The diaper can get quite large however, if you used the outermost snaps, the hip snap would be exposed.
I used the medium setting on my son, who was a bit under 17 months and maybe 22 (ish) pounds in these photos.
Once fully prepped, the bamboo inserts are both absorbent and trim.
A pocket diaper and two inserts retails for $16.95. You may purchase additional bamboo inserts/boosters for $3.95-$4.95 to add bedtime absorbency, or to use the diaper as an all-in two.
Giveaway: Lalabye Baby is offering one of my readers a pocket diaper his/her choice of color. (ARV $16.95) Entries go in the Rafflecopter form below.
