Eco Babies is an online cloth diaper retailer that offers cloth diapers, accessories, detergent, training pants, swim diapers, eco-friendly toys, baby grooming/skin care products, baby carriers, eco-friendly feeding products and breastfeeding products.

The other unique thing Eco Babies offers is their newborn cloth diaper rental. Newborn diapers can get expensive, and depending on your baby’s size, they may not be in them long. When you purchase a newborn rental/trial package, you pay $220 up front which includes a rental fee of $35/month (minimum rental period is 60 days, you just let Eco Babies know by 45 days if you need an additional month) as well as $20 worth of bio liners and cloth diaper detergent (this fee is non-refundable.) The remainder of the fee ($130) is a deposit, which will be refunded upon return of the items (less any items you decide to keep, or items that are lost or damaged beyond normal wear & tear.) You will receive your cash refund within 30 days of returning the items, or if you elect to receive store credit instead, you will get a 10% bonus, and have $143 to spend!

Happy Heinys XS Newborn Pocket Diaper Review (Plus Discount)

The Happy Heinys XS pocket diaper is sized to fit tiny newborns. I haven’t been able to find a size range for the XS, but the small is 8-16 lbs, so I imagine this XS would be perhaps 5-12 lbs. I do have another post coming up comparing the XS pocket to the mini-one size!

The diaper comes with Velcro closures, and extra-gentle leg elastic (not encased.)

The diapers retail for $18.95 with a microfiber insert, but you can get them for $2.00 less without an insert. Since I have plenty of small inserts, I elected to save the $2.00!

The small insert from my one-size Happy Heinys diaper was too wide, but a narrower insert fit just fine.

Happy Heinys Mini One Size Cloth Diaper Review (Plus Discount!)

Last week, I reviewed the “new style” Happy Heinys one-size diaper. Today, I’m reviewing the mini one-size diaper! The mini-one size with inserts retails for $17.95, but just like the one-size, there are discontinued colors (burgundy, forest green, hot pink, light pink & peach) available at a $6 discount. I chose the light pink figuring it might be light enough to pass for off white. I think it does look rather pink, but I’m not too concerned about it. I mean, it is a diaper, right?

“Mini One-Size” is a fitting name, since it looks like a miniature version of the one-size! It has 3 rise settings (the o/s has 4) to fit 4-15 lbs, Velcro closures, and the same leg elastic.

The mini one-size comes with two inserts (if you don’t elect to save the $2 instead!) in extra-small and small. I tried the small insert from my one-size Happy Heinys diaper and though it was a wee bit wide. I’m curious about the size and shape of the inserts that come with the diaper, but I have plenty of newborn inserts/doublers that came with all my one-size diapers! I found one that was a little bit narrower and it worked really well.

I’ve had my medium FuzziBunz Perfect Size Diaper for about 10 months now, and I still love it. Naturally, I wanted to add the XS/newborn size to my newborn cloth diaper stash for the new baby! The XS is estimated to fit 4-12 lbs (preemie-4 months), the small 7-18 lbs (0-8 months), medium 15-30 lbs (6-26 months) and large 25-45 lbs (12+ months.) My son was about 18.5 pounds at 16 months when we bought our medium FB perfect size. He is still rather petite at 23.5ish lbs at 25 months. The medium FB is definitely much larger than other medium diapers we were using, but it fit him well then and fits him well now with tons of room to grow. I doubt we will ever need to go to larges in the FuzziBunz! I don’t have a small though (ahem, I need to get one, don’t I?) so I don’t know how they fit vs. the XS. If you have bigger newborns, you may very well be able to use the smalls and mediums and that’s it!

It has easy snap closures, leg and rear elastic, and a rear pocket opening.

Just like the medium, the XS came with a microfiber insert that was perfectly sized to fit in the diaper.

Our medium FuzziBunz Perfect Size is a “go-to” diaper for us when we’re going to be out and about. It fits well, despite it’s more generous size, and absorbs well. ~~I expect the same performance from the XS, and we’ll find out in December when I get to test the fit & absorbency on a newborn. Tom’s of Maine Wicked Fresh Mouthwash Review + Deal at CVS Next Week

So I tried the Tom’s of Maine Wicked Fresh Toothpaste as part of a BzzAgent campaign last year, then I tried the Tom’s of Maine Natural Deodorant a few months ago.

I’ve explained before that since I’ve been “CVS’ing” since 2007, I haven’t paid more than a few pennies (paid in CVS ExtraBucks mind you…not real money, LOL) for my personal care products, including toothpaste (I only “buy” that if they pay me to take it, and I donate a lot as it is!) deodorant and mouthwash. The deal with the deodorant was that it was on sale for $3.99, and you got $3.00 Extra Care Bucks back. It’s regularly around $5.29 for 16 ounces.

I’ve struggled with switching my personal care products to more natural alternatives, largely because I can’t bring myself to pay $5, $8 or more for things I can get for free (when they are for me anyway, my kids are worth it of course.) Even though 99 cents was “a lot to pay” I figured it was worth a try for something more natural.

If you read my deodorant review, you know that was a bust, but the deal was limit 2, and included the Wicked Fresh Mouthwash. I recently finished the bottle and it was OK. It was definitely worth 99 cents!

Here are the ingredients:

Anyhoo, I’ll be honest that I don’t think it was quite as effective as the traditional stuff. My breath didn’t seem as fresh and my teeth weren’t slick-clean. However, I would continue to buy it if I can get good deals!
