Wee Bonnie Botts AIO Review, Giveaway & Discount! (CLOSED 10/26)

Wee Bonnie Botts are work-at-home-mom (WAHM) made diapers made by Sarah.  Like so many other WAHMs, Sarah started out by making diapers for her own child, and it took off from there.

Sarah and I got in contact as I was looking for sponsors for my “Year of Fluff” event this month, and she sent me a side-snapping AIO to review.

wee bonnie botts diaper wee bonnie botts rear

I really like to keep my reviews fairly matter of fact, but it so happens that the diapers I’m reviewing this week come from some of the most talented WAHMs I know.  So, you might hear a little bit more gushing than usual this week.

seam craftsmanship

I of course love the pirate print; I have a fitted in this print also.  Wee Bonnie Botts is one of a growing list of WAHMs that simply amaze me.  The craftsmanship is absolutely impeccable; not a stitch out of place.  The diaper is seamed in the middle so the front and back are both right side up!

snaps soaker thickness

The All-in-One I received is a size medium, which is estimated to fit 18-33 pounds.  The knit outer is laminated PUL, not hidden.  So there are no issues with wicking.  It has an organic bamboo fleece hidden layer, organic bamboo fleece and microfiber soakers, and a stay dry, suedecloth inner.

Wee Bonnie Botts makes diapers with two patterns.  Here is approximate sizing for each:

Je M’appelle Bebe
Preemie 2-7 lbs
Newborn 5-12 lbs
Small 10-20 lbs
Medium 18-33 lbs
Large 30-40 lbs
OS 5-40 lbs

Fattycakes
Small: Rise 14″-16″, waist 11″-20″, thigh 6″-13″
Medium: Rise 14″-18.5″, waist 12″-21″, thigh 6.5.”-13.5″
Large: Rise 16″-19″, waist 14″-24″, thigh 8″-14″

Here it is measured folded, stretched, width at the center, and width at the front panel:

I thought the sizing was generous, but not overly so.  The medium fit my 18.5 lb guy great, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it took him through potty training.

The diaper was very absorbent, and we had no fit issues or leaks!  The AIOs retail for $19-$24 (the $24 is for wool AIOs, which are coming soon.  I want, I want!)  Pocket diapers are $16-$21, fitteds $10-$20, and she even has doll diapers for $5!

A Year of Fluff Cloth Diapers Fitted Diapers Giveaway Made in the USA Newborn Diapers Review Snap Closure

Kissaluvs “Kissa’s” Cotton Fleece Fitted Review & Giveaway (CLOSED 10/23)

>

kissaluvs 0 fitted

I reviewed a Kissaluvs Marvels AIO in May; that’s still a favorite of mine, and my Kissa’s Wool Lover Diaper Cover was my first ever wool (purchased in March.)  So, when I won a Kissa’s Cotton Fleece Fitted from the Abby’s Lane blog chat, I was a little excited, to say the least!!

kissa's fitted

Lucky for you, I contacted Kissaluvs, and they will be giving two of my blog readers a fitted diaper as well!

kissa's size 0 back

In true cloth diaper addict fashion, I chose the size 0 (fits approximately 5-15 lbs) even though I don’t have a newborn, nor am I pregnant!  Hey, it was free!

snaps inner

The size zero fits 5-15 pounds, the 1, 10-25 pounds, and the 2, 20-40 pounds.  All sizes retail for $12.95 in unbleached cotton, and $13.95 in the colors.  I chose the yellow.

Below, the size 0 is on top of the Marvels AIO on the small setting.

The size 0 has an umbilical cord snap down, but can also be used without it.  Below, it is measured with the snap down, then unsnapped and stretched.

Here is the fitted compared to a newborn disposable, and also unsnapped, compared to a size 1 disposable:

Since I don’t have a newborn, I had to enlist a model.  He’s a little smaller than a newborn!

my diaper model

Here he is modeling a preemie newborn diaper, so you can get an idea of size:

Size 1 disposable:

After all that, he said his hiney was itchy and he wanted to put the Kissa’s fitted on!

kissaluvs 0 fitted diaperkissa's fitted 0

Much more comfy!!

It’s a little subjective, but I’d say it fits more like a preemie diaper, though it looked similar to the newborn diaper.  My model isn’t a very heavy wetter, so I can’t really speak on the absorbency.  I haven’t cloth diapered a newborn, but I imagine fitteds would be great.  They are breathable and could likely be used coverless, since newborns tend to dirty diapers as soon as you put them on (mine did anyway!) See this on my newborn.

Giveaway: Kissaluvs is offering two diaper giveaways, which will be drawn separately.  Winners choose size and color of a Kissa’s Fitted!  The first is open to anyone and will be business as usual.  The second diaper will be drawn from entrants who already own a Kissaluvs product, and leave a review(s) of it.

Here’s how to enter: Anyone is eligible to win the first diaper. To enter, simply fill out the form below.  Mandatory entries include name, email address and your favorite Kissaluvs Product.  You may receive a bonus entry for “liking” Kissaluvs on Facebook and/or following Kissaluvs on Twitter.  Feel free to leave a comment however, comments don’t count as entries.

Entries for the second diaper will go on the same form, but will be tallied and drawn separately from the first.  This way everyone gets the same shot at the first one! Reviews can be left at diaperpin, amazon, sears, Kissaluvs’ Facebook Page, or your favorite retailer’s website.  One entry per review, link to your review to get your entry!

I know this is a little more confusing than usual, so just send me an email if you need clarification!  The post will be updated daily (or so) with the # of entries for each.

I had intended to just try the trainer on him for now, but with all the absorbency, I ended up using as a diaper (I just checked it a little early, just in case!)  It was nice because it was super easy to put on him.

In these photos he is about 18.5 pounds, 30″ at 16 months old.  It fit him well and he definitely has lots of room to grow into it too!

Bumbledoo also makes (deep breath!): bumble all-in-two diapers, prefolds, diaper covers, pocket diapers, swim diapers, burp cloth prefolds (I love these!), inserts, wipes, organizers, booties (oh I wish I had a little girl to put those on!!) toddler aprons, mama cloth, nursing covers, nursing pads and offers diaper repair and embroidery.  Whew.  I’m wondering if there is anything she doesn’t do!

Giveaway: Bumbledoo is offering a blog reader $10 towards anything in the Bumbledoo Web Store  OR Bumbledoo’s Etsy Shop.  Yes, the trainers are handmade by WAHM Malia!  Very hard to believe based on the quality and craftsmanship, but it’s true!

Here’s how to enter: All entries go in the form below.  I’d love for you to leave a comment, either about Bumbledoo, or just to remind yourself that you entered.  Keep in mind that entries left in the comments won’t count.  Mandatory entries include name, email address and your favorite Bumbledoo Item on Etsy OR the web store.   You may “like” Bumbledoo on Facebook for a bonus entry.  This post will be updated daily (or so) with the # of entries received, for those of you who like to know your odds.

A Year of Fluff All In Two Diapers Cloth Diapers Giveaway Hybrid Diapers Made in the USA One Size Diapers Review Snap Closure

Nicki’s Best Bottom Diapering System Review & Giveaway (CLOSED 10/19)

>

Nicki's Best Bottom Diapering System

Nicki’s Best Bottom Diapering System is a one-size, all-in-two system designed by Nicki’s Diapers.  If you visit the website, for heaven’s sakes, don’t leave the “diapers” off the web address, take that from me!

Best Bottom AI2 DiaperOne Size Diaper System

I received a “mint chocolate chip” (yum) diaper along with medium and large stay-dry inserts.

Leg GussetsOne Size Diaper 4 settings

Two things that stood out to me about the Best Bottom diaper were the leg gussets, and the four size settings.

velcro closure and laundry tabs

The diaper has velcro closures, which I love.  However, I think they would be even better if the laundry tabs were rotated 90 degrees.  They don’t seem to want to stay attached in the wash, so I may try turning the tabs and attaching them at an angle!

Inserts snap in Medium and Large Stay Dry Inserts

The features page has a comparison on features/pros/cons and cost of various diapering systems.  The Best Bottom system actually has a leg up on covers and prefolds as far as cost goes.  I think they have the additional advantage of being super easy (inserts just snap in) and having a stay-dry insert.  I see no reason why you couldn’t use the diaper as a cover over prefolds as well, if you already have some in your stash.

Here is the Extra-Small setting:

Medium (the size we used):

Large:

The photos below show the Best Bottom diaper on the medium setting with a medium insert.  I was able to use the large inserts in the medium setting as well.  I just had to fold/tuck the excess insert in, and of course, it was a little bit bulkier!  My son is about 18.5 lbs and 30″.

You may be thinking to yourself, “Maria, these photos look like you put the diaper on him while he was standing, then chased him around trying to take photos of him!”  If that’s what you’re thinking, you’re exactly right.  I was able to get this sucker on him while he was on the move, and I still had no leaks at all.

Hemp/organic cotton inserts are also offered, as well as overnight inserts and doublers.  This system is so easy to use and affordable (8 covers and 24 inserts are recommended) I think it would be a great way to get started in cloth or pump up your stash.  They’d also be a fantastic choice for road trips and vacations since they take up less space than pocket diapers, fitteds or AIOs.

Each shell retails for $16.95; stay dry inserts are $3.75 each.  The hemp/organic cotton inserts are $5.75 and the overnight inserts are $6.50.

Giveaway: Nicki’s Best Bottom Diapers is offering one winner a one-size shell and 3 stay dry inserts!

Here’s how to enter:  All entries go in the form below.  Feel free to leave a comment about the post, or simply to remind yourself that you entered however, comments will not be counted as entries.  Mandatory entries include name, email address and your favorite Best Bottom color (there are new ones!)  You may “like” Nicki’s Diapers on Facebook and/or follow Nicki’s Diapers on Twitter and/or Follow the Nicki’s Diapers Blog for bonus entries (there are often giveaways on their blog!)  This post will be updated daily (or so) with the # of entries received, for those of you who like to know your odds.

A Year of Fluff Cloth Diapers Giveaway Made in the USA Pocket Diapers Review Snap Closure

Rocky Mountain Diapers One Size Pocket Diaper Review & Giveaway (CLOSED 10/14)

>Rocky Mountain Pocket Diaperrocky mountain diapers

When I was looking for sponsors for my “A Year of Fluff” event, I contacted companies that readers had asked about.  I have heard lots of talk about Rocky Mountain Diapers!  I was able to get a mango and lime diaper to review, and a lime and lemon diaper for one of you!

Rocky Mountain DiapersRocky Mountain

The Rocky Mountain Diapers pocket diaper has a simple snap closure pattern, a stay-dry suedecloth inner that is far softer than other suedecloth I’ve felt, and an easy to stuff pocket.  It comes with a microfiber insert.

This diaper is one size, by way of leg elastic adjustment.

Diaper size adjustmentDiaper XS SM MED & LG

There are 4 snap adjustments (Extra Small, Small, Medium & Large) and the elastic tucks neatly back into the diaper.  I did have to pull a bit to get the snaps out, but I didn’t hurt the diaper.

Rocky Mountain Diaper X-Small

Rocky Mountain Diapers estimates their diapers will fit babies from 5-30 pounds best, though they may fit up to 35 pounds, depending on your baby’s shape.  Above is the diaper on the extra-small setting.  It gets so tiny (and cute!)  Below are the measurements for the XS folded and stretched.

Small folded and stretched:

Medium folded and stretched:

Large folded & stretched:

Since the end of the elastic is sewn into the diaper, you really could use it unsnapped, though it of course doesn’t really stretch that way!

I actually ended up using the diaper on the small setting, I probably could use medium as well.

size I chose small

Here’s the Rocky Mountain small compared to a Bumgenius 4.0 medium:

The diaper was quite trim since it didn’t have the bulk of a snap down rise.  It could be even trimmer if you used it with a sized insert (I folded over the one that came with the diaper.)  Most importantly, it didn’t leak!  These diapers retail for $19.50 each.

Giveaway: I have the diaper pictured below (lemon and lime color) to send to one lucky reader!
