I’ve been involved with Giving Diapers Giving Hope (GDGH) since 2014 and have served as Director of Operations for almost 3 years, alongside Executive Director Kim or Dirty Diaper Laundry. Since October 2015, Thirsties and Kelly’s Closet have served as our shipping partners, and kept the organization running like a well-oiled machine. For 6 years, GDGH has loaned cloth diapers to families experiencing diaper need, and we’re celebrating 6 years by providing free shipping to 60 families.
Katie received free product for review. If you click & buy, we may receive a small commission, thank you. Geffen Baby has tons of great diaper related products. They have several kinds of prefolds, several kinds of absorbers and even fitted diapers. It’s really a one-stop shop for all your absorbency needs. I recently just reviewed the Jersey prefolds and in case you missed it, you can read my Geffen Baby jersey prefold preview.
Katie received a free diaper for review. Maria has a business relationship with the brand and may receive a small commission if you click & buy, thank you. All opinions are Katie’s. When I looked for a cloth diapering solution I was always told that fitted diapers were the very best diaper you could get for nighttime. Never once did anyone mention to me that prefolds could easily be an amazing nighttime solution as well. Once I had a positive outcome with prefolds, I wasn’t so obsessed with fitted diapers anymore. I’m a pretty simple cloth diapering mom. Fitted diapers are great, don’t get me wrong. But I love a one-step process for lazy nights. Especially because often times, I let my kiddo fall asleep before putting his nighttime diaper on. I have to say that I’m really surprised people don’t talk more about Geffen Baby products, especially their prefolds.
Katie received free products to review and all opinions are her own. If you click and buy, we may receive a small commission. Thank you. Dawn from HumBird sent us her newest diaper, the HumCloud Overnight Diaper. If you remember, we previously reviewed her adorable appliqué wool longies. This time she sent her nighttime diaper along with a wool cover for us to test out.
Stories and names used in this post are fiction, though they are based on real life experiences. Every so often, I see someone really excited about the thought of opening their own cloth diaper store, or other small business. I get it. It’s “The American Dream.” I’ve also heard complaints about product prices, talk of buying well…anywhere but from small businesses, and references to brands as “big” when I know for a fact that they are not. Ex: “They’re a big business, they can afford to cover return shipping.” or “They’re a big brand, they can afford to honor this price mistake for everyone.” Starting a business isn’t that easy, and the successful stores and brands have worked incredibly hard, and taken risks to get where they are today.
In the past 7 1/2 or so years, I’ve seen a lot of businesses come and go, I’ve seen a lot of struggles, and I’ve vowed to shop small even more than I already did. So what exactly is “small?”
