GoGreen Champ Cloth Diapers & Adapt-a-Snaps Giveaway (CLOSED 10/25)

champ diaper

GoGreen Diapers sells affordable pocket cloth diapers and cloth diaper accessories

I first posted my GoGreen Champ Diaper Review in January followed by a GoGreen standard diaper review and a comparison of the GoGreen standard diaper to the Champ diaper the following month. Check out those posts if you want all the details on each type of diaper, along with measurements and lots of photos!

The GoGreen Champ diaper has snap closures, 4 rise settings, a front and rear pocket opening (the inserts agitate out!) and double gussets. They have both hip and crossover snaps, to fit small babies with no wing droop. The Champs are estimated to fit 7-40 pounds, come with a 3-layer microfiber insert, and retail for $15.95 each.

adapt a snap

I also was one of the first to try the adapt-a snap, which allows you to turn a snap diaper into a Velcro diaper! View my GoGreen adapt-a-snap review for detailed photos, plus demos of the adapt-a-snap on several diapers!

adapt a snap

The adapt-a-snaps are available in 3-packs for $16.99 (white) or $17.49 (black.)

Giveaway: GoGreen is offering one of my readers two Champ pocket diapers and two adapt-a-snaps in his/her choice of color. (ARV $43.56) Entries go in the Rafflecopter form.

Cloth Diaper Advice – Mailbox Mondays 10/17/11 – Environmental Impact of Cloth vs. Disposables

#clothdiapers vs disposables and the environment via @chgdiapers

Monday means Mailbox Mondays, or time for cloth diaper advice. I answer a reader submitted question, and ask my readers to help too!

Questions don’t have to be cloth diaper related, just email maria at change-diapers.com with “Mailbox Mondays” in the subject, or fill out my contact form for readers, which you will always be able to find on my Contact Page.

Suki says:

I recently made homemade detergent for cloth diapers to try it out. I posted the results of the first wash on Facebook. One person said that disposables are more environmentally friendly than cloth diapers because in order to kill the bacterial, detergents need sulfates that are really bad for the environment and a really bad water/soil pollutant and at least disposables are biodegradable.

Say what? I have never read this anywhere but she’s one of those types of people who researches way deep into things. I’m not sure where she found her information or what detergent she’s basing it on. It seems like she thinks that detergents without sulfates (which I thought most cloth diaper detergents didn’t have but then again, maybe I’m thinking phosphates) doesn’t clean. I didn’t bother to ask what she thought of regular laundry detergent which tends to be worse environmentally.

Cloth Diapers Diaper Covers Giveaway Made in the USA Newborn Diapers Prefolds PUL Sized Diapers Snap Closure Two Size/Staged Diapers Velcro/Aplix Closure Virtual Baby Shower Event

Thirsties Duo Wrap & Duo Hemp Prefold Giveaway (CLOSED 10/20) US/Canada

thirsties duo wrap

Earlier this year, I did a photo review of a Thirsties Duo Wrap and Prefold. (Check out that post for all the details and photos!) I had won a cover & sized fitted in a giveaway, and chose the newborn sizes, even though I wasn’t expecting at that point! You may call it crazy, I call it planning ahead! Anyway, I wanted to compare the XS cover to the duo wrap, and I had a gift certificate, so I went for it!

Since my newborn isn’t here yet, I haven’t actually gotten to use this, but I have yet to meet a Thirsties product I don’t like!

The Thirsties Duo Wrap is essentially the same design as the duo diaper, only it’s a cover!

duo_wraps

The duo wrap has a trimmer fit than the sized covers, so it’s perfect to use over prefolds or trim diapers. It comes in size 1 (6-18 pounds) and size 2 (18-40 pounds) to get you from birth to potty training with just 2 sizes!

duo_wrap_closures

The wraps come in 9 colors ($12.75 each) and 5 prints ($13.75 each.) They’re available with snaps as well as Velcro closures!

prefold

They pair perfectly with the duo hemp prefold, which also comes in size 1 and 2. The prefolds are super soft (and I mean soft) cotton hemp jersey, which is more durable and more absorbent than 100% cotton, and is naturally anti-microbial. They are sewn so that each portion is only 2 layers thick, so they are easier to get clean and dry (view my review for all the pics!) Each prefold retails for $7.00.

Be sure to request a Thirsties print catalog, “like” Thirsties on Facebook and follow Thirsties on Twitter!

Giveaway: Thirsties is offering one of my readers a Duo Wrap and Duo Hemp Prefold in his/her choice of size, color and closure! Entries go in the Rafflecopter form.

Cloth Diapers Giveaway Inserts Made in the USA Natural Fiber Natural Fiber Diapers Newborn Diapers One Size Diapers Pocket Diapers Side Snapping Snap Closure Virtual Baby Shower Event

Babykicks 3G Pocket Cloth Diaper Giveaway (CLOSED 10/18)

Babykicks

I reviewed my Babykicks Bumboo pocket diaper about 16 months ago, then compared the Bumboo pocket to the new 3G pocket about 7 months ago. I love the Babykicks Joey Bunz one size inserts, especially with the improved tapered end and sizing guidelines. Please view my full Babykicks 3G Pocket Diaper review for all the details and photos!

I also made a video demonstrating how to use the newborn snap. This is one of only a handful of one-size diapers that I think would really work on a newborn!

The 3G pocket is available in 4 great colors, plus the white with multicolored snaps. It’s a trim one-size pocket with a front pocket opening and side snaps, and the snap down rise allows it to fit babies from 7-40 pounds. The waterproof PUL outer has fleece gussets that allow air flow, but not leaks. The lining of the diaper is 30% Certified Organic Cotton and 70% Rayon made from Bamboo, a great choice if you prefer natural materials over microfleece or suedecloth.

The Babykicks 3G pocket diaper retails for $20.50 and is available at lots of online and “brick and mortar” retailers! Be sure to follow Babykicks on Twitter and “like” Babykicks on Facebook.

Giveaway: Babykicks is offering one of my readers a 3G pocket diaper in his/her choice of color (ARV $20.50.) Entries go in the Rafflecopter form.

Cloth Diapering How To/Demo Mailbox Mondays Washing

Cloth Diaper Advice – Mailbox Mondays 10/10/11 – Convincing Others That Cloth is Awesome

convincing others that #clothdiapers are awesome via @chgdiapers

The Mailbox Mondays feature is where I answer a reader submitted question, and ask my readers to help too!

Questions don’t have to be cloth diaper related, just email maria at change-diapers.com with “Mailbox Mondays” in the subject, or fill out my contact form for readers, which you will always be able to find on my Contact Page.

This week’s is sort of a multi-parter, but both of my askers (that’s probably not a word, is it?) already know that cloth rocks, they just need help convincing someone they love!

Dodie says:

Hello I am writing this to find a way for one of my daughters to know the savings and the reason that cloth is much better than disposables. Can you explain to me the difference in the diapers and what you need to know for a new mother?

Thank you
