The Happy Heinys XS pocket diaper is sized to fit tiny newborns. I haven’t been able to find a size range for the XS, but the small is 8-16 lbs, so I imagine this XS would be perhaps 5-12 lbs. I do have another post coming up comparing the XS pocket to the mini-one size!
The diaper comes with Velcro closures, and extra-gentle leg elastic (not encased.)
The diapers retail for $18.95 with a microfiber insert, but you can get them for $2.00 less without an insert. Since I have plenty of small inserts, I elected to save the $2.00!
The small insert from my one-size Happy Heinys diaper was too wide, but a narrower insert fit just fine.
Here is the diaper measured folded and stretched:

Finally, here’s my “model” in a newborn disposable, compared to the XS pocket:

I discovered the Green Toys sand play set when I was reading reviews on Amazon for another sand toy set, and a reviewer said this one was way better (I bought both, they were right.)
Although this is the only Green Toys product we have, I think they’re pretty awesome. Their products are made entirely in the U.S. and are made mostly of recycled milk containers! The toys are packaged with minimal (recycled and recyclable), corrugated cardboard. All toys are tested by independent, third-party (USA) labs, to show there are no traceable amounts of BPA or Phthlates. No toys have paint or exterior coatings and pass a crazy number of tests including Consumer Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), Consumer Products Safety Standard Specification ASTM F963, California Prop. 65 restrictions on lead & cadmium, FDA regulations for food contact, Voluntary testing for no BPA (Bisphenol-A) and International standards EN71 and ISO 8124. Yeah, wow.
The package was easy to open. I just…opened it. There were no scissors, chainsaws, sweating or cursing involved!
The set includes a bucket, shovel, rake and sand castle mold. It retails for $21.99 and I know that sounds expensive if you’re cheap frugal like I am. However, I don’t even have the words to describe the quality. We’ve bought the $5 sets before, and you’re lucky if they last a few days. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Green Toys set lasted years and years. The pieces are thick and sturdy, and I bet you could dig in the garden without breaking them! Other toys split or crack if you try to dig at packed sand or step on them. Not these!
There is simply no comparison, even to the other spendy brand of sand toys I bought!
We took the toys to the state park, where there’s a man made lake and beach. My son just went to town and totally had a blast.
At one point a kid (total stranger) ran up, grabbed the bucket and said “can we borrow this?” I was honestly caught by surprise. I just said “uhh, no, this is a brand new toy and we don’t want to lose it.” In my head I was thinking “yeah kid, I know it’s awesome but get your own!” I felt really bad but my husband said he would have said no too!
Green Toys has been nominated for a Red Tricycle award in the Au Natural Toy category! The businesses with the most nominations become finalists, so if you think the Green Toys company is as great as I do, nominate them! It’s really easy, enter their name, URL, your email and city, and submit!
You can buy the set directly from Green Toys, from Amazon (affiliate link), or find a Green Toys retailer!

The Little Looster is a unique step stool designed specifically to give little potty trainers/users a boost on the loo!
It’s unique design is convenient for little feet, but stays tucked under the potty, so it does not need to be moved for adults to use the toilet.
It wraps around the toilet, so your little one’s feet are supported whether he likes his feet out front, or prefers to hang them around the side. It also means you don’t have to worry about him taking a tumble and/or flipping the stool over if he doesn’t step off the potty perfectly in the center of the stool.
Though I thought the stool looked really big when I took it out of the box, it fits perfectly even in our small half bath. The stool doesn’t tip over no matter where my son steps on it, it doesn’t slip (it has non-slip grips on the bottom) and the textured design means he doesn’t slide or slip, even when his feet are wet. I was worried that it might collect dirt on top (like another step stool we have, which has rubbery nubs on top) but it hasn’t!
It’s very easy to use:
Maybe a little too easy, hee hee. I did eventually get him to use it the right way!
My son is very petite, so he sometimes does need a little bit of help getting himself over the raised splash guard on the potty seat, but he is really close to being able to do it himself every time!
I would love to see the Little Looster in other colors, and I’d be thrilled if they would design the perfect step stool for the bathroom sink! The Little Looster is available at retailers for $34.99, and is manufactured completely in the U.S.! Monica Mylet developed the Little Looster over the course of three years to meet a need their family had, and I really enjoyed looking at the Little Looster along the journey!

The GroVia Newborn AIO cloth diaper is an award winning diaper designed for babies 5-12 pounds.
I chose the gender neutral vanilla color, but it’s also available in several cute prints. The TPU outers mean you don’t need a separate cover.
The diaper has a simple snap closure, as well as a snap down rise for an even better fit.
The sewn-in and flap soakers are made of 80% certified organic cotton, so you do need to wash & dry the diaper 5+ times before it will reach it’s maximum absorbency.
Here it is measured folded and stretched:
